Chapter 6
While I got my divorce plans in order, Alston and Ella were screwing like rabbits.
I guess he figured since she was “dying,” he should get in as much action as possible before time ran out. So he took every chance to fuck her.
And each time, Ella recorded it and sent it straight to my phone.
They weren’t just banging in the study. They fucked in a nearby park in the morning. He even
dragged her to the office during work hours. One video shows her under his desk, sucking him off…

Ella definitely didn’t have the stamina of someone with terminal cancer. No matter how rough
Alston was, she kept up with him, even seemed to enjoy it.
I’d done some checking. Ella didn’t have lymphoma. The whole dying act was just her ticket into our
house.
The lie was so thin I uncovered it with a few phone calls. If Alston had bothered to check, he’d have known instantly.
But he didn’t want to know.
This lie can give him permission to keep fucking her…
‘You’re like a stupid robot,“Ella cornered me in the street. “Your husband’s all over me every night. My legs are jelly~ And you’re just watching it happen? God, so pathetic. You don’t even have the balls
to confront him!”
“Are you that desperate to keep him? Acting all cool but you’re shitting yourself, right? You’re scared if you make a fuss, he’ll pick me instead of you.”
I lifted my gaze to meet hers. “You really think he’d choose you?”
‘Obviously. Don’t believe me? Let’s find out.”
[ust as she finished speaking, a car veered onto the sidewalk, heading straight for us.
Alston was close by. He spotted the danger instantly, dropped everything, and lunged forward–straight toward Ella.

Chapter 6
“Ella, watch out!”
I had no time to move. The car slammed into me, sending me flying.
As consciousness slipped away, the last thing I saw was Alston clutching Ella tightly, using his body
to shield her from harm…
Blood warmed my face as my vision blurred. In that fading moment, I remembered years ago, Alston and I went skydiving, and our chute failed to open.
As we plummeted toward certain death, Alston had grabbed me and positioned himself beneath me, ensuring his body would hit the ground first.
He had once used his body to protect me without a second thought.
A
Now he’d abandoned me to save another woman…
I don’t know how long I was out before Alston’s voice cut through the silence.
I forced my eyes open to see him holding my phone, looking pissed. “Divorce lawyer? Wrong
number, buddy.”
“My wife and I are mean to be. We’re not getting divorced–the only way end our marriage is death!”
