Chapter 107
‘Parks residence,” she said sleepily. “Pandora?” she carried on right away. She was sure she heard Jack screaming.
“Jack is sick, really sick and I can’t get a hold of Benjamin. Lana, I don’t know what to do?” she sobbed into the phone.
“We’re on our way,‘ she told Pandora and she let out a breath. It felt as if it took them hours to get there, but she knew by the clock it had only been ten minutes when she heard the door open.
“Here, here, Jack,” he said, taking him from Pandora. “Where’s Benjamin?” he asked.
She shrugged and he frowned at her.
“What… Haş something happened?” Lana asked.
“He arrived home but got a call to go back to the hospital. He said he had to leave and go back to work. I’ve called twice asking them to page him, but nurse Leena,” she spat out her name, “said he wasn’t there and that she had paged him and he hadn’t responded.”
“Pandora, I think he has a chest infection,” Peter stated softly. “I think it would be best to take him to the hospital.
She gulped and nodded at him. “Wait, what about Micheal?” she asked.
I’ll stay with him. You go with Peter and take care of our sick little man.”
“I have a few bottles made up,” she told her, putting on her jacket, choosing not to get dressed. The drive to the hospital seemed so long with Jack still screaming and coughing.
“Why is he not cooling down?” she asked Peter, who gave her a forced smile.
“He will, when we’ve given him more medication and get him settled into a bed.”
Pandora stood to the side as Peter worked around Jack, but knew that it was more serious when another doctor joined him. She looked at her watch, seeing that they had been there for almost an hour and Benjamin still hadn’t come down to the emergency
room.
“Pandora, when did the boys get their vaccinations?”
“Yesterday,” she replied with a frown. Before Peter could say another word, Jack’s entire body started to shake. “Peter,” she yelled as her heart took off.
She watched, unable to take her eyes off Peter and the other doctor working to help Jack. “Please, God, help my son get better,‘ she prayed, feeling as if she was falling apart.
‘He’s okay,” Peter said as Jack’s body seemed to stop moving. Within a short time, they were settled into a room in the pediatric ward and Jack was sleeping and hooked to several machines and had an IV.
Where is Benjamin?” she asked Peter who looked at Caleb,
‘I’ll go and find him Caleb said as he walked out of the room.
She felt Peter pull her down to a seat, holding her to him as she cried. She was just getting her emotions under control when the door flew open, and Benjamin ran in.
“Dad! Benjamin yelled. “What’s going on?”
Chapter 107
I think Jack has had a reaction to one of the vaccines he got yesterday
As Peter’s sims left her, Benjañón replaced them. But the moved away from him by leaning forward. She heard Benjamin galp, but she could not be near him right then.

Both of them walked out and Pandora held Jack’s hand, feeling another sob work its way up and out of her. She just field Jack’s hand and cried for several minutes, silently praying that he would be okay!
‘Sweetheart,‘ Benjamin said softly, but she didn’t turn to him. I’m sorry,” he said, sounding sad.
Pandora felt him touch her and she turned to glare at him, “I called you several times and it went to voicemail. I called the nurses station, and that nurse said she paged you, Why didn’t you answer? What else was more important than your son? I have never called you at work before, Were you that pissed at me that you couldn’t call me back?” she asked as Benjamin closed his eyes.
‘I didn’t get any pages,” he told her and she snorted. “I swear I didn’t, Pandora, I would have called you back,” he stopped and sighed. “I was asleep,”
She turned and looked at him. “You choose to sleep here when you have a bed at home? You could have told me to move to the other room, or move out if you didn’t come home because of me!”
“What?” Benjamin gasped. “No,” he frowned. “Why would you think that?”
“Because, since you went back to work, I haven’t seen you. We haven’t even-” She stopped, knowing not just the fact they hadn’t had sex, but they barely even kissed anymore.
“I know and I know it’s my fault. I used to always be the one who covered for other doctors because I was the one without a family As she went to remind him he had a family of his own, he covered her mouth. “I know I have one now, and I didn’t see that they were still expecting me to just drop everything for them. I was upset with them, upset that I was breaking my promises to you. Every time I came home I felt tired, and then I saw you. You looked exhausted, so much more than tired, and it about killed me. I was missing you and the boys, but 1-” he stopped and sighed.
“I thought that I could have the best of both worlds. I thought I could do the job I love, and still have plenty of time to be with the family I have and love, too.”
She looked at him and felt guilty. “You can, I’m sorry. I’m just finding it hard to do it all. I’m sure I’ll get used to it. I am sorry I took my frustration out on you,” she said.
Benjamin groaned loudly. “That there, I hate.”
“What?” she asked.
“That- just backing down and letting it be all your fault. I get that’s what Derrik did with you. He would use words to play on your doubts and feelings and sulk to get you to fold. I am not him. You should have told me you were finding it hard, and that you felt as if I was abandoning you. You should have treated me like I am your Husband and trusted me enough not to hide all of your problems from me. I am not Derrik. I love you and want to be with you!”
