The distance was a bit far, so she couldn’t clearly discern the emotion in Matteo’s eyes, but she did notice that he seemed to smile

Was he smiling at her?

Maybe she was overthinking it.

Freya, feeling a bit confused, looked away.

Levi also noticed this and asked, “What’s so funny?”

Matteo smiled and said, “Nothing.”

Levi didn’t pay much attention to it.

He noticed that when Freya looked at them – especially when she looked at Matteo – she seemed as calm as if she were looking at a stranger, raising an eyebrow.

He wondered whether Freya was still playing the cat–and–mouse game of pretending to be indifferent to Matteo or if she was simply displaying some kind of understanding.

If it was the latter, then, knowing that Matteo didn’t want to publicly acknowledge their marital relationship, it made sense that she would keep her distance from him, avoiding any sign of their connection, whether it was at the banquet or now at the exhibition.

To be honest, Freya seemed quite considerate in this respect.

At that moment, Raven approached. “What are you two talking about?”

Levi quickly responded with a smile, “Nothing.” Then he asked, “Have you finished your conversation?”

Before Raven could answer, someone walked over with Professor Liam.

“This is Professor Liam, the one I mentioned earlier – the algorithm genius, Miss Brown.”

This was the same Professor Liam who had been introduced to Freya at the banquet by Johnny.

That day, when Raven had gone to find Johnny, Professor Liam had naturally seen her, but since Professor Liam was rather unremarkable in appearance, and Raven had not attended the banquet to meet figures from the tech field, she hadn’t noticed him.

Now, upon seeing Professor Liam again, she didn’t recognize him at first.

That day, Raven and Johnny seemed to have had some unpleasant interaction, but Professor Liam had been engaged in conversation

with Freya and hadn’t paid much attention to what had happened.

Now, when seeing Raven, he didn’t bring up the previous events but instead smiled and greeted, “Hello, Miss Brown.”

“Hello.”

The Brown family’s tech company was in urgent need of some talented individuals in the field. Upon learning about Professor Liam’s background, Raven was extremely polite, and Logan also made a point of greeting him.

However, Logan and Lauren didn’t understand the technical details.

Their purpose for attending the exhibition was simply to network.

Of course, once Matteo arrived, Logan and Lauren were also paying attention to him, curious about how he would react upon seeing

Freya.

And soon enough, they realized that after Matteo saw Freya.. he didn’t react at all.

It was as if he had seen a stranger.

He didn’t even spare her a second glance.

It was rumored that Freya had used underhanded tactics to force Matteo into marrying her.

Matteo had no feelings for her.

After marriage, he hardly ever stayed at home.

He felt nothing but disdain for her.

It seemed like the rumors were true.

As the exhibition drew to a close, the event staff notified the key personnel from each company to proceed to the conference hall for

the summary meeting.

Johnny and Freya represented Cole and entered the conference hall.

Freya and Johnny walked ahead.

When Raven and the others saw that Freya was entering the conference hall, they were quite surprised.

Logan said to Raven, “Does Johnny really value her that much?” 

Although they had noticed Johnny bringing Freya to the exhibition, they hadn’t realized just how much attention he was paying to her.

This was surprising to her.

After all, Freya had already been married and had a child.

While Freya was indeed beautiful, Johnny was well–rounded in every way. It wouldn’t have been difficult for him to find someone more suitable, so why was he so invested in Freya, a woman who was about to enter her second marriage?

Raven didn’t respond.

Although they had entered the exhibition, there were limited seats in the conference hall, and since their company wasn’t showcasing any exhibits, they would usually sit at the back.

However, Matteo had invited Raven to sit at the front.

Upon hearing this, Logan chuckled.

Freya was there, yet Matteo had asked Raven to sit in the front…

Raven naturally understood this as well.
