“Yeah… it’s just that… I can’t imagine this being over forever… we don’t get separated this time around but we probably will in our future judgement days… what if next time we get separated and I don’t see you again? I blunder, with all of my anxieties suddenly rising to the surface as the realisation of us leaving here to perhaps never come back settled in.
Erin blinks a few times, processing my words before she groans loudly at the thought.
“Well, they will have to believe us! This is all so outrageous! Surely the both of them seen the way we both stood in that damn cage holding ourselves to avoid being seen by anyone? We were shivering and crying for gods sake! It was clear to anyone with eyes that we both didn’t want to be in there Tess they must have known deep down that we didn’t just do that for the fun? That’s totally idiotic!” Erin bursts out in an agitated rant, throwing her hands up as she talks as I nod along with her to show my agreement.
“It’s not just that, it’s Arianna that I fear! Of course they will believe her over us Erin they’ve known her for as long as she’s been with Talon and they’ve known us for a matter of two weeks!“–1–breathe out in a huff, disappointed in the series of events which had been caused by a fellow human.
If only she was decent A real girls girl? None of this would have ever been a problem!
“I want to smack her so damn hard! I’ve never been so angry in my life Tess – not even with everyone back at the school – Arianna has stooped to a whole new level! Who would mess with someone’s future happiness as hard as that? Damn psychopath! Did you see the smug look on her face too? She loved every damn minute of our torture!” Erin expresses her pent up rage as I again agree and understand exactly why she is this upset.-
“It’s not that… we wouldn’t have even bothered her much by staying here either! She doesn’t live here and only visits a few times every year – if she really wanted to, we could stay as far away from her as possible whenever she does visit.” I explain my thoughts on that, as Erin finishes my last item before helping me to shut the last bag.
We both stand, stretching a little before I walk towards the balcony with Erin following behind me as we both step out into the scorching sun.
“I can’t begin to imagine how Arianna treats the other girls where she lives… I guess it could be worse? At least we probably don’t have to see her much ever again.” Erin releases a dry laugh, as we both lean our elbows over the balcony edge.
The view was stunning, the land was stunning, the sun was warm and the birds chirped away happily in the nearby trees – creating a true scenic paradise that we would sadly be leaving behind.
“At least we got to live like this for a few days? We just have to find the positives amongst the bad. We’ve created memories here that will last a lifetime Tessa!” Erin continues, as I nod in agreement however her words still don’t manage to strip away the sadness I felt.
“It’s almost half three, Anthony said that we have to meet them downstairs to head for the flight.” I remind her, scratching the back of my head and sighing.
This is it…
It’s all coming to a sad close…
Unless Kane and Seth somehow manage to believe us over Arianna which was the less likely outcome at this point – she’s won.
“Come on then… we will face it together like always… just think, it will be good to sleep in our little room again tonight!” Erin forces a laugh as we make our way back inside to gather up our things.
I force a smile, appreciating how she would always try to bring light to any situation, as I scan my eyes over the room one last time
my heart hurting at the thought of losing this forever.
