Kane’s POV
As the jet roared through the night sky, carrying us closer to Russia and the unknown dangers that awaited us, I couldn’t shake the sense of unease that gnawed at my insides hoping that they were at least treating them both fair.
Every minute that passed felt like an eternity, each moment filled with the anticipation of what they were doing to the two of
them…
Seth sat beside me, his expression tense with worry as he gazed out the window into the darkness of the night. I could feel the weight of his concern pressing down on me, a silent reminder of the responsibility that rested on my shoulders.
“We’re getting closer, but our men won’t get there til morning” Seth muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. “Are you sure we’re doing the right thing?” He questions, as I nod once and don’t think more on the matter.
I glanced at him, catching the flicker of doubt in his eyes, and for a moment, I hesitated. But then I remembered Tessa and Erin, alone and vulnerable a foreign land, and the fire of determination flared within me once more.
“We have to do this, Seth,” I replied, my voice firm and resolute. “They need us, and we can’t afford to let them down.” I state.
Seth nodded, his jaw clenched with determination as he turned to face me. “I know,” he said. “I just… I can’t shake the feeling that something’s not right about all of this. Why the fuck would they come all the way here to take two of our humans back to Russia? Do they not have females of their own? The place is huge!” Seth rants, bringing up thoughts that had also crossed my own mind,
I understood his concerns. Russia was a dangerous place, especially for two young women who had been taken against their will. The Russian packs operated by their own rules, and their sense of justice was harsh and unforgiving… but they’ve made a mistake
this time.
They’ve stolen humans both very valuable to me and for that, I would cause a fucking war.
As the hours passed and the jet soared ever closer to our destination I struggled to rest with my mind doing overtime.
Would we be able to find Tessa and Erin before it was too late? And even if we did, would we be able to get them out of there safely?
We have to.
There was no other choice.
The uncertainty gnawed at me like a hungry wolf, but I pushed the doubts aside, focusing instead on the task at hand. We would find them, no matter what it took. And whoever was responsible for their abduction would pay dearly for what they had done.
“Alpha! There’s some documents you should probably read, I had them downloaded for you.” One of my men appears, known for his surveillance skills, as I nod I take the small file from his hands.
