I grip my nose with my thumb and forefinger, before Anthony approaches me sinking down in to the seat opposite me as he takes notice.
“You look like you want to kill somebody…” He notes, as I grumble in response, unable to string together a sentence.
“Read this shit!” I spit, tossing the first page to him, before scanning over the reaming five which I was still to read – no doubt holding more horrible information.
I watch as Anthony scans over the words, his face contorting as he reads each line of what I had just read for myself.
“Fucking hell! I knew that the Russian Alphas were brutal but I didn’t think they would be this intense!” Anthony comments, lifting his eyes as soon as he was done reading the document.
Jamison have this went around to everyone on board so that they know what kind of shit we are walking in to!” I state, calling over one of my men who takes the first page from Anthony and nods beginning to read it first by himself.
New thoughts began to batter their way around my mind, worried that they would do anything extreme to either of the girls before we could get there…
I pick up the next file, deciding to push through, seeing that it was a case file about both of the Northern packs which we were stuck between.
‘Pack one – zmeya (serpent) pack. Ran by Alpha Kion Malatesk. Best known for his riches in the trade of medicine, weaponry and
oil.‘
With the first paragraph alone, I lift the next paper to compare both introductions in an attempt to place my bets on which pack sounds more threatening.
‘Pack two–rassvet (dawn) pack. Ran by Alpha Dimitri Valto. Best known for their intense warrior training academies and human
centres.‘
With that, my breathing caught in my throat.
Best known for their human centres…
If I had to guess, it would make the most sense for a fellow centre to contact one of our centres for an exchange. The first pack sounds slightly more structured and pure compared to Dimitri’s set up according to this paper.
“Gather everyone around! I think I know what pack to hit first to find the girls!” I stand instantly, gaining the attention of my men. nearby and also waking Seth up from his half asleep slumber from beside me.
“W–What? You found them?” He blunders, rubbing his eyes as I nod once confident with my decision.
They’ve got to be there… it makes sense…
“Are we able to contact the Alpha from pack one? Gage his opinion of Dimitri? If we are lucky… they will be rivals and he could help us…” I suggest to my trackers, who pull out their equipment and nod- getting to work.
We might be on to something here! I can negotiate a deal that Alpha Dimitri won’t be able to refuse in return for his help.
Having someone on their home land to support our cause would put every last one of us in a much better position.
I may be one of the strongest Alphas back home, if not thee strongest, but I couldn’t get ahead of myself here. The terrain was
1/2
unknown and so was the country in general to me.
Whether I liked it or not, we were already at a great disadvantage… But that wasn’t enough to stop me. I’m ready to do everything that needs to be done to get Tessa back!
