He snatched the dishes before him with his wounded hand and shattered them furiously against the floor.
“Simon, are you aware that Lola belongs to me?” Zack growled.
“In what capacity? As your girlfriend or betrothed?” Simon stood his ground. “Or are you implying that because a girl once had feelings for you, she’s now your personal possession?”

Zack’s eyes were inflamed, a crimson ocean. “You were well aware of Lola’s feelings for me, yet you
deliberately took her away?”
“Zack, Simon didn’t take me from anyone,” I said, clasping Simon’s hand tightly. “I initiated things. Besides, I don’t have feelings for you anymore. To be honest, I haven’t for quite some time.”
As I gazed at him, I suddenly realized I had moved on

long ago. After all, no self–respecting woman would fancy someone who showed her no regard. Nor would she pine for a cold–hearted individual who treated her as disposable.
Perhaps during our childhood years together, there were some vague emotions. But after my true identity came to light and his behavior changed drastically, those feelings had already turned to dust.
“Lola, what are you talking about?”
Zack looked as if he’d heard the most ridiculous thing
ever.
“You nearly threw yourself into the river for me, and now you claim you don’t have feelings for me?”
“I never considered jumping into the river for you.”
“That night I went to the riverside, it was merely a pretext for Simon to come and get me.”
Zack was momentarily dumbfounded.
After a pause, he glared at me with wide eyes, speaking through clenched teeth.

“So, that night in the dormitory, the person in Simon’s bed was you?”
“That’s correct, it was me.”
“Zack, continue with your life.”
“I told you that day, I won’t cling to you anymore in
the future.”
“I intend to keep my word.”
Having said this, I turned away from him.
