4- 049 FIGHTING HIS BEASTS

I entered the grand hall and sat on the throne. It was supposed to be a place of peace, a place where I could think clearly.
But even here… my beast was not calm.
I clenched the armrests of the throne tightly. My claws started to peek through. Zion, my beast…was waking up. He was angry. Hungry. Unstable.
“Beta Cross,” I said in a low voice, almost shaking. “Leave now. Seal the palace. Keep everyone safe. Zion is…. taking over.”
Cross didn’t waste a second. He ran.
My eyes sharpened. My hearing grew stronger. I could hear people running and screaming outside the palace.
Zion was almost free. He wanted to take over completely.
And if that happened… I wouldn’t be able to stop him.

I took deep breaths and spoke to him inside my mind.
“You need to stay calm, Zion. Please. Innocent people will die. This isn’t the way. This isn’t who we are.”
But it didn’t work. My beast didn’t listen.
I stood from the throne, my body changing. My claws were longer now. My eyes glowed a dangerous red. My chest was rising and falling too fast. I was losing control.
“Delilah… I need you,” I whispered, my voice broken.
But she wasn’t here.
Would it be selfish to call her now? To take her away from Alpha Farrell? She might not even want to come.
I dropped my head. “Why is this happening to me? Why now?”
Then I heard it.
Screaming. Crying. Loud footsteps. Shouts.
My ears perked up. I couldn’t stay inside anymore. I needed to see what was happening.
But my beast wouldn’t let me move easily. I had to fight just to control my own body. I was in pain. I could feel my bones shifting, my skin heating up.
Still… I forced myself forward.
I pushed open the large palace doors and stepped outside.
But what I saw stopped me cold.
There was no one outside.
Not a single guard. Not a single soul.
The air was heavy. Too quiet.
I looked around the empty courtyard. My breathing slowed. The beast inside me paused too,
confused.
