Chapter 10
I’d played this game from the beginning, watching the brothers‘ relationship crack and splinter while I planted my little seeds of discord. Though I’d wondered if my scheme would work, seeing Matthew’s raw fury as he threw those punches told me everything I needed to know.
Men and their possessive nature they’re almost too predictable. Even though Matthew’s feelings for me were nothing but shallow attraction, the mere thought that someone else – his own brother, no less- had claimed what was “his” sent him spiraling.
The fact that it was his twin made the betrayal cut even deeper,
Nathan, on the other hand… I never bought his performance for a second.
How could I trust someone who saw everything through the lens of corporate reputation?
A man who’d willingly play along with his brother’s deceptive games?
His supposed devotion to me was just another move in his endless game of keeping up appearances.
So I executed my plan step by step: enjoying the passion, taking back my money, and betraying him without a second thought.
Neither twin could claim innocence in this twisted dance we’d been dancing.
After my tearful performance pushed Matthew over the edge, I watched the sun peek through my
window.
Despite not sleeping all night, excitement coursed through my veins, keeping me wide awake and sharp.
As Matthew stormed off to confront his brother, I pulled out my hidden suitcase and destroyed my SIM
card.
Within an hour, I was on a train heading home, leaving their world of wealth and pretense in the dust.
My quick exit wasn’t random.
Sure, I’d driven a wedge between them, but family ties run deep.
Once the dust settled, they’d inevitably join forces against their common enemy – me. That’s why I’d handed in my resignation a week ago, setting the stage for my grand exit.
Truth is, I’d been itching to leave this golden cage for months.

Chapter 10
Only Matthew’s impossibly perfect face had kept me here, playing my role in their little charade
Now, watching the city fade away as my train rolled toward the sunrise, I felt lighter than I had in
months.
I smiled to myself, imagining their reactions.
Two privileged brothers, their perfect world crumbling around them, undone by their own arrogance and games.
And me?
I was vanishing with their money, their pride, and the sweet satisfaction of knowing I’d outplayed them
both.
And, somewhere in that city, a pair of twins learning that karma…
Well, karma’s a bitch.
