Chapter 13
Under his pressure, Annalise fled in almost panic.
Although the two of them grew up together, she still couldn’t see through this cold and mysterious man.
Kaleb closed the door and looked around but couldn’t find any trace of me.
Just as he was about to go to the kitchen to get a glass of water, he saw two cold breakfasts on the dining table.
Kaleb’s eyes darkened in an instant as he murmured, “Katrina…”
On the other hand, after leaving home, I hurriedly went to the laboratory.
I ran the journey for about ten minutes and felt a little out of breath.
Then, when I took out a handkerchief to wipe the fine sweat off my forehead, my eyes involuntarily fell on the letters in the corner of the handkerchief.
That was the initials of Kaleb’s and my names.
Meras
On the day of our engagement, Kaleb personally ordered a lot of coupled items, such as coupled toothbrushes, coupled towels, and coupled clothes… He printed both of our names on every item, saying that this way, it would be like a couple.
I felt a bit embarrassed and unwilling to use them.
Kaleb coaxed me for a long time before I finally adapted.
Now, I had already gotten used to the presence of these things, while the person who used to accompany me had changed his heart.
Things hadn’t changed, but the man had.
How ironic.
I threw the handkerchief into the trash can.
This scene happened to be witnessed by my business partner, Giana Harris, who was also my college roommate. Giana asked me, “Katrina, why did you throw away the handkerchief? Aren’t you afraid of making Kaleb angry?”
I replied lightly with an expressionless face, “It’s dirty.
There’s no need to keep it anymore.” Kaleb’s feelings for me had changed completely.
So naturally, there was no reason for me to keep the things Kaleb gave me.
I thought that since I had decided to end my relationship with Kaleb, I should end it completely.
