My father, Owen, clenched his fist and slammed the table, so angry that he covered his chest and took a deep breath. My mother, Belinda, sat directly on the ground and burst into loud crying, momentarily losing control. “Are you crazy? Have you lost your mind?” Terry was so angry that he clenched his fists and charged towards Laci, ready to strike. But when Laci dodged, he couldn’t bring himself to hit his wife. Instead, he turned and smashed his fist into the wall, causing it to bleed.
I rushed over and grabbed Terry’s arm, saying, “Brother, don’t hurt yourself.”
