Chapter 13- first chances -1
Lucia’s p.o.V
I stayed, rooted in my spot as I watched Kaden fall to the floor in pain.
“What happened to him!” the guards said, running into the cell, looking scared to come near either of us and scared for what might be happening to their Alpha.
“I don’t know, he just..”
“We heard you talking about magic..” the other one said accusingly at me. I was lost.
“What? Jerry!” I called one of the guards who was a friend of ours, well more of Sam’s friend. He was usually in my classes, even though he never really mixed with me.
They both shifted back as I yelled. I felt a bit hurt. I thought they could trust me on
things like this, but apparently not.
“We’ll place you in intensive care” the other one, I didn’t even know his name said. They took Kaden, who had already passed out. I was barely holding myself together.
Sam’s p.o.v
A whole week, almost two if you count plus the days of the mating season and he was yet
to make a move on me.
I was getting tired. He ignored me every single time.
I stood up, getting prepared for school.
“Thank Goddess it was the last day of school,” I said frustrated. It was summer break but that was going to at least take a while.
I grabbed my bag after taking a long shower, throwing on whatever clothes I could find.
I walked down the stairs, passing by Eric’s room as he also lived in the pack house. He
opened the door just as I reached it.

He nodded towards me, causing me to nod back. The rest of the stairs were awkward as he was behind me.
“So? What have-“The rest of the words did not get to make it out of my mouth as I missed a step.
I never reached the ground as he gripped the back of my shirt, holding on to me tight.
“Are you okay?” he sounded genuinely concerned. I, on the other hand, was embarrassed. I wanted to melt into the ground.
‘I don’t think he saw it that way‘ my wolf said, from the back of my mind. I didn’t answer either of them. My wolf was delusional thinking that he would love us even if we shit unicorns out of our butts.
I cleared my throat stood up straight and ran down the stairs.
I couldn’t be any happier when I felt the cool breeze on my cheeks as I reached outside.
“You’re quite fast you know” I turned back in horror, looking to see him slightly out of breath.
“YOU FOLLOWED ME!!” I wanted to melt into the ground, finding comfort in the dirt.
“Well this is the only way out.”
I snorted. I was starting to realize he had a smart mouth. And I didn’t think I liked it very much.
“Well it was kind of obvious I was trying to run away from you, and you following me doesn’t he….” it wasn’t my lucky day I could tell, because somehow, in trying to get away from him while talking, I stepped on a shoelace and tripped, face first to make it worse, the part I had fallen down was a bit stony.
Eric was at my side in an instant, checking for injuries. I didn’t miss the way his eyes flashed bright blue.
“YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAREFUL!!!” I looked at him with wide eyes.
“You don’t have to yell!” I snapped, rolling my eyes.

I hated the way my voice wavered a bit. I looked away from him.
“Your stockings are ruined.” He said in a softer voice. He moved to touch it. I had worn a black pantyhose under my short skirt and a long sleeve.
I pulled my legs closer to me.
“You brushed your knee,” he made a move to touch my knee.
“Let’s just go, we’re already late for school” I made a move to stand but hissed as I stood
- up.
“You should stay back.” He said, standing up with me, securing me to make sure that I
didn’t fall back down.
“Oh please, it’s just a scrape on the knee, I’ll be..” he noticed the way I hissed for a moment as the pain stung me… I hated how he saw me in this embarrassing state, I’d give anything to change our encounter today.
