“Arthur, if you touch Hazel again, I swear I’ll take your life.” Camila’s voice was icy, her gaze sharp and deadly, like a knife aimed straight at Arthur.
Arthur was taken aback by the intensity of her look, momentarily frozen in place.
But soon, his anger flared up again, even stronger than before. “You dare threaten me? I’ll beat you to death!”
With those words, he lunged forward, intent on striking Camila without hesitation.
Hazel quickly stepped in front of Camila again, using her body to shield her. The belt cracked across Hazel’s back, sending her stumbling, but she stood her ground stubbornly.
Camila’s tears flowed even harder, her heart consumed with rage. ‘Kill him. Kill him. Kill him. That was the only thought running through her mind.
Her life had already been destroyed; there was no future for her. When she was released from prison, she had planned to find a place where no one knew her, to spend the rest of her days in peace.
But the Jackson family wouldn’t let her go. They wanted to torment her endlessly.
She had suffered enough, and there was no point in continuing this miserable existence. Death seemed like the only way out. She didn’t want to live anymore. She thought, ‘Let everyone die together.‘
With all her strength, she shoved Hazel aside, sending her staggering back. Ignoring the pain in her injured leg, she rushed into the kitchen.
When she came back out, she was holding a kitchen knife, her eyes locked on Arthur as she walked toward him.
Arthur’s heart skipped a beat at the sight of the knife. For a moment, fear flickered across his face, but he still yelled, trying to maintain control, “Camila, what are you doing with that knife? Have you lost your mind?”
“Lost my mind? Yes, I’ve lost it. You all drove me to madness!” Camila screamed, her voice hoarse with rage, her eyes red and wild.
Without a second thought, she raised the knife and swung it at Arthur. There was no hesitation, no fear in her eyes–just pure, uncontrollable hatred.
Arthur’s face drained of color at the sudden attack. His body jerked instinctively, narrowly dodging the blow.
The knife sliced through the air with a sharp whoosh, missing him by inches, but crashing into a large vase behind him. The vase shattered with a deafening crack, its pieces flying in every direction.
The scene was so dramatic that everyone in the room froze, eyes wide in shock. It was clear that Camila wasn’t just making empty threats–she was serious.
For the first time, Arthur was truly afraid. His legs trembled uncontrollably, and he stumbled backward. He never thought the daughter he had abused and humiliated would one day turn on him like this.
When someone had nothing left to lose, they became the most dangerous. When you no longer cared about your own life, others should start to fear you.
“Camila, you’re committing a crime!” Arthur shouted in panic.
“I don’t care about crime anymore–I don’t even want to live!” Camila screamed, raising the knife again.
Arthur, terrified, lost all his authority and composure. He was no longer the head of the family.

Chapter 27
Finally, Belinda snapped out of her daze, seeing Agnes’s fragile state, and rushed forward to intervene. “Camila, put the knife down! What are you doing? We’re family–why can’t we talk this out?”
“Talk it out?” Camila let out a bitter laugh, tears streaming down her face. “When I wanted to talk, none of you gave me a chance! Now that I’m done talking, you want to guilt–trip me with your moral lectures!”
“Do I deserve to be bullied by all of you?” Camila’s voice trembled with bitterness.
“No, no, that’s not true,” Belinda protested, shaking her head desperately. Her heart ached as she watched Camila losing control, the pain cutting deep.
“Camila, please let me explain. It’s not what you think. Whatever you’re going through, talk to me. I’ll listen, I promise. I’ll listen carefully,” Belinda said.
Camila let out a bitter, hollow laugh. “It’s too late for that.
“Mrs. Jackson, I don’t want to say anything more, but because you gave birth to me, I won’t lay a hand on you. But Arthur and Agnes have to die today. Once I’m done with them, I’ll turn myself in.”
Belinda’s face drained of color, her eyes wide with terror,
“Camila, please don’t do this, Killing someone means paying with your own life. You’re still so young–you’ll regret this. Please, I beg you, put the knife down.” Belinda’s voice broke, raw with fear and desperation.
And that was human nature for you. When she threatened to bring everyone down with her, they could still try to compromise. But she didn’t need their compromise anymore.
“Regret? The only thing I regret is ever coming back to this family.
“Mrs. Jackson, tell me–after everything you’ve done to me, do you feel even the slightest bit of regret? When I was locked in prison, suffering day after day, where were you?
“When I was beaten and had my leg broken, where were you? All you cared about was Agnes, that outsider. I was never important to you, was I?
“You’ve always called me a burden, a criminal. But who’s the real criminal here? Agnes is the one who sent me to prison, and you ignored it. You even helped her frame me. Now that I’m out, you want to keep torturing me.
“Why is it that everything that went wrong is always my fault?
“Tell me. Tell me!” Camila shouted, causing Belinda to tremble with helplessness.
“Camila, it’s not like that,” Belinda said.
“Then what is it like?” Camila shot back.
Belinda was left speechless.
“Can’t even say it? Looks like I’ve been right all along. Then let it all end together.”
With that, Camila raised the knife high, its blade gleaming coldly under the light as she aimed it directly at Agnes, who stood behind Belinda.
Belinda’s face drained of color, her eyes wide with shock. Without thinking, she threw her arms around Camila and shouted, “Agnes, run! Go find Harry!”
Camila fought like a cornered animal. “Mrs. Jackson, let go of me!”
Tears streamed down Belinda’s face, “Camila, I’m not ‘Mrs. Jackson, I’m your mother!”

Chapter 27
“You’re not!”
“I am. I gave birth to you. Camila, please listen to me. Don’t do this.”
For a brief moment, Camila stopped struggling, and Belinda felt a spark of hope, thinking her words might have gotten through. But the next second, a cold, mocking laugh escaped Camila.
“Gave birth to me? You think just because you gave birth to me, you can control me? Fine, I’ll return your so–called debt” Camila’s voice was icy, her eyes filled with a chilling detachment.
Belinda froze, a sinking feeling taking over her. Something much worse was about to happen. She instinctively tightened her grip on Camila, as though trying to hold back the impending disaster.
With a sudden burst of strength, Camila broke free from Belinda’s hold, placing her hand on the table and locking eyes with Belinda.
“To give life and not nurture it is to repay with a severed finger. To give life and nurture it is to repay with a severed head. To neither give life nor nurture it is an eternal debt.
“Mrs. Jackson, your debt to me is worth no more than a single finger.” As she spoke, she raised the knife, aiming it at her own finger.
