The Wolf and the Fae
Chapter 114
Helios stood on the balcony of his palace, his heart heavy with regret and longing, it had been weeks and he had tried his best to avoid situations where he would see Lucia but it was becoming more and more impossible. The air was fragrant with the scent of blooming roses, but for Helios, the beauty of the evening was a pain reminder of Lucia’s absence. She had left the castle three days ago, her heart wounded by misunderstandings and harsh words.
Helios knew he had to make amends, but mere words would not suffice. He needed a gesture grand enough to show Lucia the depths of his remorse and the strength of his love. He turned away from the sunset and walked purposefully towards the heart of the palace grounds, to the one place where he could begin to mend their fractured bond–the Garden of Memories.
The garden had been neglected in recent months, its once vibrant flowers wilting and the pathways overgrown with weeds. Helios rolled up his sleeves and began to work. He tapped into his magic, fixing what flowers he could fix and replanting the once that had been damaged due to neglect
As he worked, Helios thought of Lucia. He remembered the way her eyes sparkled when she laughed, the warmth of her smile, and the gentle touch of her hand. His heart ached with each memory, but the pain fueled his determination. He knew he had to create something truly extraordinary, something that would speak to Lucia heart.
as the garden began to take shape, Helios called upon his court musicians. He asked them to compose a piece of music that would capture the essence of their love story–the highs and the lows, the joy and the sorrow.
Finally, the garden was ready. Helios sent a messenger to Lucia, inviting her to the palace under the guise of an important meeting. He waited in the garden, his heart pounding with anticipation. As the sun set, casting a warm glow over the flowers, he saw Lucia approaching.
She looked as beautiful as ever, her hair catching the light, her eyes filled with curiosity. Helios stepped forward, his heart in his throat. “Lucia,” he said softly, “thank you for coming.”
Lucia looked around, her eyes widening as she took in the transformed garden. “Helios, what is all this?” she asked, her voice tinged with wonder.
“This,” Helios said, gesturing to the blooming flowers and the twinkling fairy lights that lined the pathways, “is my apology. I know I hurt you, and I know words alone can’t heal the wounds I’ve caused. So, I created this garden for you–a place where we can make new memories together.”
Lucia nodded as she looked at the garden, and then back at Helios. “You did all this for me?” she whispered.
Helios nodded, his throat tight with emotion. “I love you, Lucia. And I will spend every day proving it to you, if you’ll let me. It took me a while but. I have come to realise.we do not have the terms mates before we are together”

Lucia took a step closer, her eyes searching his. “Helios, I’ve missed you. But I am scared. What if I don’t love you as much without the bond, or what if you don’t love me as much. What if…?”
“I know it can be scary” Helios said, reaching out to take her hand. But I’m willing to do whatever it takes to show that its forever.”
As they stood there, the musicians began to play the melody Helios had commissioned. The music floated through the garden, wrapping around them like a warm embrace. Lucia closed her eyes, letting the notes wash oyer her, and Helios watched as a small smile played on her lips.
When the music ended, Lucia opened her eyes and looked at Helios. It’s beautiful,” she said softly. “And so is this garden. I can see how much effort you’ve put into it.”
Helios squeezed her hand gently. “It’s only the beginning, Lucia. I want to spend my life making you happy, if you’ll give me the
chance.
