Chapter7.
I arrived at the Winter family estate around 11:40 AM. The butler was surprised. He knew another
guest was coming, but not the young mistress. He knew Jason and Tanner were in the living room and broke into a sweat.
The secret of Jason and my bonding with Jason was known only to our parents and a few close people.
“This way, ma’am.‘
He led me to the living room, where I heard Tanner’s bubbly voice.“I won again, Jason, did you
me win?”
I stopped. My mind went blank, but I quickly recovered. My wolf sneered,“SUCH CHILDISH TACTICS!
“Ha.” I scoffed and walked in.
I was not wearing makeup and had on simple clothes: loose white shirt and jeans. Even so, my skin was flawless. My long hair was loosely tied back.
Jason looked surprised.“How you…”

“Your mother called me,” I said, my eyes filled with sarcasm, “You weren’t supposed to be in other Pack, were you? When did you learn teleportation?”
Jason’s eyes flickered with guilt.
Tanner, the short hair girl, stood and came to me, extending her hand provocatively.“Hello, I’m Tanner Cooper.”
I ignored her.
Vera entered. She glanced at me, then kindly took Tanner’s hand. Tanner, have fun today, treat this as your own home.” Then, she introduced me, “This is our company’s manager, Ms. Wells. I need to talk to her about something.”
Everyone knew I was Jason’s partner, but introducing me as an employee showed she didn’t want me there and sent a message to Tanner: Sophia was nothing; the Winter–Cooper union was unimpeded.
Tanner proudly lifted her chin.“Oh, just a company employee.”
I looked at Jason, silently. I wanted to see his reaction. He remained cold, not bothering to defend me. He knew, but he didn’t care about my humiliation. This was the Head Warrior I bonded for seven years.
“Mrs. Winter, you wanted to talk to me? Let’s talk here.”
“Let’s talk another time. Since you’re here, stay for dinner.”
“I won’t have dinner. I have things to do.” I turned to leave.
Vera shouted, “I asked you to stay, what is your attitude? You’re so ill–mannered!”

I turned back. “Fine. I’ll stay for dinner. Don’t regret it.”
I chose a seat far from them. Tanner sat next to Jason, holding his arm. “Jason, let’s continue the
game.”
