Chapter 4
And Nathan? He’s already her loyal idiot.
Blood was dripping down my face, but I didn’t care.
My anger burned hotter than any pain.
Then I heard tiny footsteps.
Our son peeked out of his room, scared and confused.
He shuffled toward us, his little voice trembling.
“Mommy… Daddy… what’s wrong?”
Then he turned and saw Sarah crying.
He rushed to her side, little arms flapping.
“Auntie… don’t cry… Mommy’s bad…”
That was it. That broke me.
Nathan’s voice boomed like thunder.
“Olivia, look at yourself! Screaming like a lunatic in front of your kid?”
“You want the whole damn neighborhood to know you cheated on me?”
“Is that what you want?!”
Our son started sobbing–loud, guttural sobs.
I reached for him, but he flinched and ran straight into Sarah’s arms.
Like I was some monster from a nightmare.
“Olivia, don’t be mad,” Sarah cooed, fake–sweet.
“He’s just a kid. He doesn’t understand. You can’t take it out on him.”
I lost it.
“Yeah, he’s just a kid! Two weeks ago he wouldn’t even let go of me.”
“What did you say to him? What lies did you fill his head with?!”
“You want my place? Take it. You want Nathan? Go ahead.”
“But don’t you dare try to steal my son’s love!”
Our son clung tighter to her, crying even harder.
“Mommy’s a bad woman… Mommy’s like… that woman from Daddy’s show… I don’t want her!”
My blood turned to ice.
Sarah looked startled–but in her eyes, I saw it.
That little flicker of victory.
I snapped.
I lunged and grabbed her by the collar, my eyes wild.
“What did you tell him?”

Nathan grabbed my arm and shoved me back.
I stumbled, nearly falling.
And over his shoulder, I heard him yell:
“You’re insane! A full–on, hysterical psycho!”
