The Billionaire’s Sudden Bride
Chapter 93
Brandon’s POV
I watched June sleeping beside me. Her hair was a mess against the illow, with traces of last night visible on her skin. As her eyes fluttered open, she noticed me watching and quickly pulled the sheets higher.
“You’re awake,” I said.
She blushed, avoiding my gaze. “Yeah… you got up early! About last night…”
“What about last night?” I couldn’t resist teasing her.
Her blush deepened when I sat on the bed’s edge. She realized how revealing her thin silk nightgown was and yanked the covers to
her chin.
“Don’t look!” she protested.
I laughed, unable to help myself. This accomplished woman was hiding under sheets like a shy teenager after how she’d come apart in my arms hours ago. I reached out to stroke her hair before pulling her against my chest.
“Is my June feeling shy?” I murmured. “That’s not how I remember you last night.”
“Stop it!” She covered my mouth with her palm. “Don’t say another word! Just pretend last night never happened, okay?”
I kissed her palm. “Alright, I’ll stop teasing you.” I pressed my lips to hers. “Hungry? Let’s get you fed.”
Downstairs, I was finishing breakfast when June appeared, dressed in jeans and a simple blouse. She moved with a slight hesitation that sent a jolt of masculine pride through me.
“You good?” I asked, setting a plate before her.
“I’m fine,” she insisted, though her cheeks flushed again. “Just a little-
Her phone interrupted us. After answering, her expression brightened. “He’s awake? That’s amazing news!”
She hung up, already standing. “Grandpa George is awake. I need to see him.”
“Before you go,” I said, “there’s something we need to handle.”
In my study, I handed her the ownership transfer documents for the entertainment company.
“Since this is yours, you should sign it,” I said.
June hesitated. “Wasn’t I supposed to exchange my shares with you first?”
“You might run into your folks at the hospital,” I reminded her. “Better get this settled now.”
Understanding dawned, followed by a flicker of pain. “God, I’m such a failure at this whole family thing.”
“No way,” I said firmly. “You’re making the smart move. Sign these, and we’ll handle the rest together.”
James texted that the paperwork was ready. I printed the documents and handed them to June.

“Damn, you work fast,” she commented.
“When it matters, yeah.” I watched her face. You sure about this? Your family’s gonna flip.”
Her expression hardened. “I’m sure. As long as you’re sure
you’re taking on the Taylor family drama.”
I laughed. “You think I’m worried about the Taylors? Please. You’re my wife now. Your problems are mine.”
My words seemed to touch her. She retrieved her grandfather’s stock certificates and drafted the transfer letter. I signed without reading it.
“James will get these notarized today,” I assured her. “It’ll be official by tomorrow.”
“They’re going to lose it,” she said softly.
I cupped her cheek. “Let them. This is about what’s best for us not keeping them happy.”
–
She nodded, placing her hand over mine. “I want to introduce you to both my grandfathers soon. They should meet the man I married.”
“Whenever you’re ready,” I agreed. “I need to hit the office for a few hours. Some meetings can’t wait.”
June surprised me by rising to press a quick kiss to the corner of my mouth. Before she could pull away, I held her close, studying the newfound warmth in her eyes.
I captured her lips properly, and she responded eagerly. When we broke apart, she pushed gently at my chest.
“You should get to work,” she murmured.
“How am I supposed to leave now?” I traced her jawline. “I just want to keep you with me all day.”
She laughed. “Unless you’ve got a magical pocket like Doraemon, you can’t exactly carry me around everywhere.”
I pretended to consider this seriously. “Maybe I should just tie you to me with a string, make sure you don’t wander off.”
. Her eyes danced with amusement, and I found myself captivated by this lighter side of her.
Later, as I finished dressing, June spotted me by the door and frowned.
“Your tie’s all messed up,” she said, stepping forward to fix it.
I stood still, fighting the urge to pull her back to bed as her fingers worked. She looked completely focused, tongue caught between
her teeth.
“There, perfect,” she announced with a satisfied pat.
“Thanks,” I said, my voice deeper than intended. “My hands are too clumsy for this. Guess I’ll have to rely on my wife from now on.”
Her eyes brightened at “wife.” “I charge extra for this service, you know.”
“How about breakfast every morning as payment?” I kissed her forehead. “See you tonight.”
James waited by the car when we came downstairs. I handed him the documents.
“Mr. Taylor is awake,” James informed us. “The family’s already at the hospital.”

June nodded. “I know. I’m going there now.”
“Alone?” I couldn’t hide my concern.
“I can’t keep running from confrontation,” she said firmly. “Some things I need to face myself.”
I reluctantly agreed. “Call me if anything happens anything at all.
After she left, my expression hardened as I turned to James. “Have Desmond follow her. Don’t let her see him.”
James looked surprised. “Desmond, sir?”
“You heard me,” I explained. “Tell him to report directly to me if anyone gives her trouble.”
“What’s the status on Victoria Taylor?” I asked, shifting focus.
“She’s agreed to the role, but getting out of her current contracts is complicated.”
A cold smile spread across my face. “Then let’s give her another fall before she can rise again – one so hard she won’t get up without our help.”
As we drove away, my thoughts returned to June. The memory of her shy smile this morning, the way she’d blushed at my teasing.
Protect what’s yours, my father had taught me. And June was mine now-
completely, irrevocably mine.
