Chapter 10 Tear Him Apart
Eason’s POV:
Susan’s silence was making everyone around me more and more anxious.

This was the first time any of us had encountered our destined mate, and we had no idea how to approach her. To make matters worse, fate had a cruel twist–our destined mate was none other than the daughter of my sister, someone I’d grown up with. And she was still just a child.
We surrounded her, yet we couldn’t even manage a simple attempt at comfort.
Frustration was written across our faces as we looked to Ivan and Zain for guidance.
Ivan, the public face of the Silvermoon Alliance, was known for his smooth handling of tricky situations. He was the one we called when things got complicated. But even he seemed lost when it came to dealing with a child. After a moment’s pause, he spoke, “What are you worried about?”
His voice was as cold and unfeeling as ever, and we exchanged irritated glances.
Zain, as usual, hesitated to speak, his frustration palpable as he remained silent, his face tense with discomfort.
I sighed and leaned over, gently brushing my fingers through Susan’s hair. As soon as my hand touched her, the familiar silver glow of our bond–a sign of our destined connection- flowed between us, soothing her. I asked softly, “Susan, what’s on your mind?”
She turned to face me suddenly, her eyes heavy with the scars of her past, her voice hollow as she whispered, “When I get home… will I have food to eat?” She tugged at her hospital gown, revealing her thin, fragile form under the pale light, her ribs visibly outlined like a prisoner. “The last time I stole a steak, Father hung me by a silver chain for three days.” The room went completely still. Her words hung in the air, thick with pain.
Food. She was worried about food.
Before any of us could react, Susan asked in a small, broken voice, “Will anyone punish me?”
Just those few simple sentences nearly broke Laurence.
The child feared hunger, feared being beaten.
What had she endured while living with the Grayclaw Tribe?
The howls of eight silver wolves filled the air, their power shaking the windows as their

Laurence turned away, his tail poking through his suit as he clenched his jaw, fighting to hold back tears. His eyes were bloodshot, his anguish clear.
I took Susan’s small hand, pressing it gently to my face. My voice was raw as I said, “Susan, don’t worry. When we get home, you’ll have whatever you need. No one will hurt you.”
I pointed to the men standing around her. “This is Uncle Eason, and Uncle Zain, and Uncle Freddie… They’re all powerful Alphas. We’ll protect you, Susan. No one will harm
you again.”
Susan clutched the blanket tightly, her silence stretching on.
Just when we thought she might not say anything more, she suddenly spoke, her words soft but firm. “Uncle Eason, I didn’t push my stepmother that night. I found out she was faking her pregnancy, and she made me say I pushed her … ”
She repeated her words, her face set in defiance, though her eyes still held that same dull, lifeless expression.
I felt my throat tighten, and Laurence could no longer hold it in, wiping his eyes in sorrow.
Ivan’s voice was calm, but there was a firm edge to it. “I believe you. Not taking the fall was the right thing to do.”
I nodded, my voice gentle but firm. “It’s their fault, Susan. You’ve done nothing wrong.”
At that, Susan’s lips trembled, and her eyes filled with tears.
It was as if all the emotions she had buried for so long were finally flooding out, spilling over in a torrent of sorrow.
Her face remained stubborn, but her voice faltered as she whispered, “But my dad didn’t believe me.
“He said I killed my brother.
“Grandpa said if I didn’t confess, I’d never be allowed out.”
The little girl, finally able to express her pain, cried out in helpless grief.
She was just a child, and despite her defiance, the weight of everything she had endured was clearly breaking her.
I fought back my fury, muttering under my breath, “He doesn’t deserve to be your father!”
Ivan’s voice snapped at me. “Eason!”

Outside the room, I could no longer hold my anger in. “Ivan, are we really just going to let Grayclaw Tribe off the hook?”
An Alpha Council punishment wasn’t nearly enough for what he’d done!
Ivan calmly began rolling up his sleeves, taking his time with the movement as he unbuttoned his silver cufflinks. His voice was detached as he said, “Tear him apart. Would that be enough?”
We would tear him apart!
