Chapter 16 The Return to Grayclaw Tribe
Frank’s POV:

The familiar tension swept over the Grayclaw territory once again. I could sense a powerful group of werewolves openly entering our land.
It was the same eight Alphas as before!
But this time, they moved with a calm confidence, no longer charging in like wild beasts.
I watched as several sleek black Maybachs rolled to a stop in front of our villa. The doors opened, and eight tall, striking men stepped out. Not far behind them, the Elder Alpha of the Silvermoon Alliance was carefully helped out of the car.
The sight alone would shock anyone in the Werewolf Kingdom. But unbelievably, they were here for a few worthless trashes.
Our family had already gathered at the entrance, waiting to greet them. The moment the Silvermoon Alliance members arrived, we rushed forward to meet them.
Dad forced a friendly smile, stretching out his hand toward Ivan. “Ah, our esteemed in–laws! What an honor to have you here, Mr. Summers!”
But Ivan only shot him a cold glance, his hands resting in his pockets, showing no interest in a handshake.
My heart sank, but I kept my smile firmly in place.
Dad, undeterred, continued to lay it on thick. “In–laws, is this your first visit to Northlorn? I was just saying how lovely the weather has been lately. It must be because of your visit! Please, come inside!”
Laurence sneered coldly, his words dripping with sarcasm. “Yes, the weather is just wonderful. It’s so wonderful that my granddaughter ended up needing to be rescued at the temple. You all did a great job.”
Dad’s smile faltered, his face turning stiff.
Mom jumped in quickly, her voice overly sweet. “Oh, you’re quite the jokester! We’ve always treated Susan well. She just got into a small spat with Cynthia that day, and her father disciplined her out of frustration.”
As she spoke, she held out her hand to Susan, her expression gentle. “Susan, come here. Let me hug you! It’s been so long. I’ve missed you dearly!”

A wave of unease swept over me. Couldn’t she see how important it was for us?

Laurence’s expression hardened, his tone cold and biting. “Discipline? You broke my granddaughter’s bones, tore her wounds with a silver–poisoned weapon, and left her out in the snow in nothing but thin pajamas. Is that what you call discipline?”
Mom immediately looked embarrassed, unable to find an excuse.
I felt a surge of panic, too. But considering our family had already gone bankrupt, and I had taken a beating as well, surely the Silvermoon Alliance wouldn’t push that further. After all, we were supposed to be family!
Dad tried to smooth things over, pulling Laurence with a strained smile. “Let’s take this inside and talk. No matter what happened, Frank is still Susan’s father. She needs her father.”
He shot me a look, and I got the message.
Putting on my best remorseful face, I stepped forward, my voice dripping with feigned regret. “Yes, yes, Susan. I was wrong before. Can you forgive me? I shouldn’t have hit you, even if you did make a mistake.”
I moved toward Susan, but the bodyguards immediately blocked me.
Susan only snuggled closer to Eason, still refusing to look at me.
Frustration burned inside me. That brat! Didn’t she understand how erucial it was? Instead, she was still acting out!
Keeping my voice low, I let a dangerous edge slip into my tone. My pheromones flared subtly, adding a hint of intimidation as I called her, “Susan.”
In the past, that tone was enough to make her fall in line.
