Chapter 136
“you did not tell her did you?” was the first thing Constance said when Helios got back, not giving him a chance to breathe.
“if you know, why did you ask?” he was at his wits end at this point.
“I just…”
“Goddess! I made a mistake! If you would stay out of this! you may be her guardian but that is it! our relationship is none of your business! His eyes were losing colours slowly, a small sign that he was entering into extreme emotions, in this case, anger.
“my lord” she bowed, leaving Helios to continue his pacing and guill
Kellan stood at the edge of the training grounds, his eyes scanning the perimeter with the diligence of a seasoned warrior. Yet today, his thoughts were not solely on the duty that had consumed his life for as long as he could remember. Today, his mind wandered to Lucia. He was one the second warrior assigned to Lucia, to make sure that she was properly cared for, and he took that seriously, more seriously than he should have
Lucia sat in the middle of the fields, trying her best to get the spells she had worked with.
To Kellan, Her ethereal beauty was undeniable, with her raven–black hair that cascaded down her back and eyes that seemed to hold the secrets of the universe. But it was her spirit, her unwavering determination to master her powers and protect their world, that had begun to stir something deep within Kellan.
He watched her now, practicing her spells at the far end of the field. Her movements were graceful, almost dance–like, as she conjured orbs of light that floated around her like miniature suns. There was a purity to her magic, a raw power tempered by her gentle heart. Kellan found himself captivated, unable to look away.
“You’re staring again,” a voice interrupted his thoughts. Kellan turned to see Aric, his fellow warrior and closest friend, standing beside him with a knowing grin. “You know, if you keep gawking at her like that, people might start to think you’re interested.”
Kellan chuckled, trying to dismiss the notion with a wave of his hand. “I’m just keeping an eye on her. It’s our job to ensure her safety, after all.”
Aric raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. “Sure, and I’m a goblin’s uncle. Come on, Kellan. I’ve known you for years. There’s more
to it than that.”
Kellan sighed, unable to deny the truth any longer. “She’s…different, Aric. There’s something about her. I can’t explain it, but I feel this…connection. Like she’s the light to my darkness.”
Aric’s expression softened, his teasing demeanor replaced by genuine concern. “I understand, my friend. But you must be careful. Our duty is to protect her, not to complicate things with emotions. Besides, Lucia has enough on her plate lets not forget she has a
mate one that could rip our heads without moving his finger”
Kellan nodded, knowing Aric was right. Yet, he couldn’t shake the feeling that his growing interest in Lucia was more than a mere
distraction. It felt like destiny.
Later that evening, as the warriors gathered for their evening meal, Kellan found himself seated across from Lucia. She smiled warmly at him, her eyes sparkling with the remnants of the magic she had wielded earlier.
“Kellan, you seemed deep in thought during training today,” she said her voice as melodic as a summer breeze. “Is everything alright?”
Kellan hesitated, searching for the right words. “I was just…admiring your progress. Your control over your powers is impressive.”

Lucia blushed slightly, her cheeks tinged with a delicate pink. Thank you. I still have much to learn, but I feel more confident every day. Thanks to the support of everyone here.” Lycans were different from other wolves in that they had the ability to do limited magic. That explained the last time they were under attack in the cable, and she was able to do what she did hack then
Their conversation flowed effortlessly, a dance of words that felt as atural as breathing. Kellan found himself drawn to her intelligence, her kindness, and the quiet strength that lay beneath her delicate exterior. As the evening wore on, he realized that Bis feelings for her were more than a fleeting interest. They were a burgeoning love, a flame that burned brighter with each passing day.
Yet, as he watched her laugh and converse with the others, Kellan knew that his path was fraught with challenges. He was a warrior. sworn to protect her at all costs. Allowing his heart to guide him could lead to complications, to dangers he could scarcely imagine. But as he glanced at Lucia, her eyes meeting his with an intensity that took his breath away, Kellan knew that some risks were worth taking.
As the night drew to a close, Kellan made his way to the watchtower his heart heavy with the weight of his newfound emotions. He gazed out over the moonlit landscape, the stars twinkling like a thousand eyes in the sky. He knew that his path would not be easy, but for Lucia, he was willing to face any challenge, any danger.
For now, he would keep his feelings hidden, a secret known only to him
“hey soldier, I am sorry let you do my round again today” Sam said as he met her in the tower room.
If he did not know any better, he would have said that she was avoiding Lucia, which she was in fact doing. Letting him do all the
work
“it is fine, I actually don’t mind it” she bumped his shoulder slightly
“you know…” she adjusted her body in a suggestive manner. “I could always make up for it.” she bit her lips and looked away from him slightly
“have you found anything for the night? You can make it up by staying watch yourself through the night” she blinked rapidly not
understanding how he missed a clear sign that she gave out

“oh… uhm… sure”
“thanks, good night” he smiled, the usual smile that made her heart flutter
