Devil’s Saints: Taz
Chapter 21: Bellator
A
Ding dong. Bellator calling. Toad
Taz looked at her phone and the unknown number. There had been lots of them lately, and not all were robocalls concerned about her car’s extended warranty. Some had been from companies that Priscilla had reached out to. And one was even from a reporter. She had never given an interview before. But, with Brute and Knuckles beside her, she sat down and gave her first press interview.
“Hello?” she answered after pulling on one of Riffraff’s shirts.
“Miss Jasmine Olson?” came an unfamiliar feminine voice.
“This is she.” Closing the door to Riffraff’s room behind her, she headed to the stairs in her sweats, t–shirt and crocs. She had not expected to like the weird shoes as much as she did.
“Miss Olson, my name‘ is Tabatha Smith, and I’m with Bellator.” Taz stumbled slightly on the stairs but caught herself on the railing. Two brothers also reached out to steady her.
“You okay?” the bald one asked quietly. Smiling she nodded and mouthed ‘Thank you.‘ He nodded and they all went in their own
directions.
“Please, call me Taz.” She said continuing down the stairs with a giant smile on her face. “How can I help you, Miss Smith?”
“Tabatha is fine.” Came the reply. “I have been trying to find out what management company you’re with. I’m not finding you listed with any.”
Signing with a management company never occurred to her. She barely paid her bills and fees. How could she pay for that also?
“I’m not with a company.” Taz admitted as she approached the bar. Noel put a water bottle out for her.
“Do you have a representative that we can send information to?”
“Representative?” Taz squeaked as the bottle she tried to pick up slid through her fingers.
“Yes, ma’am. We recommend all new and potential fighters have a manager or legal representative review all documents before signing.”
Noel touched her hand and Taz just stared at her blankly before walking out of the bar and heading down the hall. “Ummm…. Hang on.” She said to the lady on the phone as she approached Toad’s office. She was grateful that the door was open. Her jaw moved up and down a few times, but she was unable to form any more words.
Finally, she shoved her phone at Toad and when he looked at her confused, she was able to whisper a single word. “Bellator.”
Toad smiled at her and took the phone. “This is Joseph. How can I help you?”
He listened for a moment while Taz continued to look at him in shock. “I guess you could call me her manager.” He motioned for her to sit, afraid that she would pass out from how pale she looked. Yes, we have lawyers on retainer.” Grabbing a well worn business card off the corkboard on the wall behind him, he gave all the contact information.
“I’m assuming that you are interested in her fighting for you?” Toad asked and then nodded and gave her a thumbs up. They both smiled at each other like idiots.
“Yes. Absolutely. I understand. Okay.” He scribbled a few things on a piece of paper in between his responses. Then he tapped some keys on the laptop before giving them all of Taz’s personal information; legal name, date of birth, clubhouse address. Then gave his own contact information.

Chapter 21: Bellator
Taz couldn’t help herself anymore. She dashed out of the office and went back towards the bar. Riffraff was standing close to one of the pool tables waiting for his turn to shoot. She launched herself at him. He stumbled back as he caught her. Before he could ask anything, her mouth was on his.
The cue stick fell from his hand, forgotten as his arms wrapped around her. Her legs were locked around his waist and her hands were fisted in his hair.
Ink picked up the cue stick and grinned at some of the other guys. ot sure if I should tell them to get a room or enjoy the show.”
Toad walked in and chuckled at the couple. Her phone was in one hand and his phone was held up to his ear with the other. “When you decide that you want your phone again…“, the phone was placed on the edge of the pool table.
“Hey, Celt. I gave your information to a representative from Bellator
There were a few cheers and a single ‘Hell yeah! from the guys in the room.
“I think she’s excited. She’s a little busy right now.” He chuckled. “Getting CPR. Or giving it. Hell, not sure either of them can breathe right now.”
Taz broke off the kiss and smiled down at him. He smiled back at her as he shifted her slightly. “You got Bellator.” He said softly and she nodded. “Good. Told you.”
“I hate to interrupt the celebratory love fest,” Toad said not sounding very sorry at all. “But we need to go see your lawyer.”
Reluctantly, Taz slowly let go of him and he sat her on her feet. Riffraff gave her one last light kiss and then gently pushed her
back.
“Go take care of your business. We’ll go celebrate tonight.” Gently he caressed her cheek before dropping his hands and stepping away from her. Taz slid her hands down to his shoulders and then off his biceps before she too stepped away, turning and walking towards Toad. He watched his president take his woman away. Take her a little closer to her dream. And he feared, further away
from him.
