I thought he would get angry and scold me for being greedy, but instead, he paused for a moment and replied, “Okay, see you tonight.”
Three years ago, we jointly founded a high–end custom evening wear brand, which had flourished since then. Ryan Lewis had provided
the initial funding while I took on the design responsibilities. For me, it had been like hitting the jackpot without spending a dime.
Now, the company was valued at billions and was ready for an IPO. “Money” was limitless, yet he was willing to give it all to me just to be with Sophia Garcia.
It seemed they were truly in love.
As I got up, I looked around the house filled
with wedding supplies, feeling a wave of

I called in some people and instructed them to pack up everything related to him in the house.
I was immensely relieved! Thankfully, I had insisted on not sleeping together wiith him. untill the wedding night. Otherwise, I would have had to give up my purity, which was even more disgusting.
After the house was tidied up, I changed into a different outfit and carefully did my makeup. Just as I finished, I heard the sound of a car engine in the courtyard.
Ryan Lewis was back.
Along with him came my former future mother–in–law, Elena Lewis.
I was momentarily taken aback.
Was she here to make sure her son didn’t come
out on the losing end?
“Welcome back.” I remained seated on the
couch, not bothering to get up. After greeting
Ryan Lewis, I glanced at Elena Lewis and said,
“Aunt Elena is here too.”

a smile. “Didn’t you already start calling me ‘Mom‘? Why switch back to ‘Aunt‘?”
I smiled back and bluntly stated, “My mom has been dead for a long time.”
The implication was clear: she wasn’t worthy.
Elena Lewis’s face fell, as if someone had taken a knife to it, all expressions instantly wiped
away.
Ryan Lewis also looked displeased, stepping closer to say, “Flora, the one who hurt you is
me, not my mom. Don’t take it out on her.”
“Oh, so I should blame your dad then?”
“Flora!” Ryan Lewis suddenly raised his voice, clearly angry.
I slightly curled my lips, unfazed.
Elena Lewis tugged at Ryan Lewis, whispering, “Talk nicely; don’t start a fight.”

I reached for the contract and flipped through

I glanced at him and said casually.
Ryan Lewis frowned, likely surprised that I was so particular about it.
“How much is the wedding dress?” he asked.
“One million dollars at a friendly price.”
Elena Lewis gasped, “Flora, are you trying to rob him?”
“Aunt Elena, do you want your son to explain what my creations are worth in the fashion. circle?” I shot a cold glance at her.

“Besides, you can choose not to take it.” I shrugged, still maintaining my indifferent attitude, but then added, “But Sophia definitely wants the dress, so no matter how expensive, Mr.Lewis will buy it.”
Ryan Lewis looked at me, surprise flashing in his eyes.
I knew I had hit the mark.
Ever since Sophia Garcia entered the Garcia
Manor, anything I liked, even if it were just a piece of garbage, she had to take for herself.
A wedding dress was nothing–if you had the money, you could get it anywhere!
But Ryan Lewis insisted on taking the dress I had painstakingly made. Wasn’t that just what Sophia Garcia wanted?
As expected, Ryan Lewis hesitated for a moment and then nodded, “Alright, one
million.”

“Mom, you don’t need to worry about this,” Ryan Lewis ignored Elena Lewis’s objections and looked at me, saying, “Sophia is seriously ill and can’t choose the jewelry for the wedding. She asked if you could just give her what you had already picked out.”
Although I had been mentally prepared for this, I was still stunned by his words.
“Ryan Lewis, if Sophia Garcia wants my life, are you going to hire a hitman to take my head?” I couldn’t help but retort sarcastically.
Ryan Lewis quickly denied it, “Flora, Sophia isn’t that kind of person. You’re misunderstanding her. She is indeed seriously ill and unable to prepare for these things, and you won’t need them anymore.”
I quietly watched him defend another
woman, unable to hide my mockery as I smiled sarcastically, “Ryan Lewis, do you still remember the promises you made to me?”

Ryan Lewis met my gaze and looked somewhat uncomfortable. With a lack of conviction, he said, “Flora, I certainly love you. I just feel sorry for her; she’s so young and even two years younger than you, suffering from a terminal illness with little time left. She is your sister. Don’t you feel any sadness knowing she’s about to die?”
I recalled the times when Sophia Garcia used to tear my clothes and throw dirty things into my bed, laughing as I screamed in fright.
Of course, I hadn’t spoiled her, either. I picked up those disgusting things and chased her, trying to stuff them into her mouth, scaring her
so much that she tumbled down the stairs.
In the end, my dad and stepmother teamed up to beat me mercilessly. I was furious, and while they weren’t home, I took revenge by shredding all their clothes in the wardrobe.

“Exactly,” Elena Lewis said, her eyes reddening as tears began to well up. “Every child is flesh from their mother’s body; how could any mother not be heartbroken? They would rather take their child’s place and die for them.”
