Chapter 6
Those men began to forcefully tear at my clothes. I struggled desperately. Annoyed by the noise, Olivia grabbed a bottle of wine and smashed it against my head.
Hot liquid flowed from my forehead, blurring my vision as my head spun.
Just as the fabric tore, the door was kicked open:
“What the hell are you doing?!”
Tyler kicked those men away and tried to help me up, but I pushed him away.
I looked at his expensive suit and laughed bitterly:
“Tyler Hayes, did you enjoy playing me for a fool?”
“I didn’t-”
“At this hour, shouldn’t you be working at KFC? What kind of KFC employee wears a suit worth thousands? I bet that $100 daily wage couldn’t even buy a thread from your suit.”
Tyler was left speechless by my question. Olivia cast a glance at me and sneered with a soft laugh:
“Pretty good eye for quality. What, now that you know Tyler has money, you’re eager to get your share?”
“I knew there were no such fools willing to give everything for nothing. You probably knew Tyler’s identity all along and shamelessly clung to him She’s totally a a scheming woman and a gold digger. How pathetic!”
Anger and despair surged within me. I had simply fallen in love with someone and wanted to share his burdens. I had never played with anyone’s true feelings. Why was I humiliated like this?
Unable to contain myself any longer, I slapped Olivia. Tyler immediately tensed, pushed me away, and pulled the crying Olivia into his arms.
“Emma Star, have you lost your mind? How could you hit someone?!”
I laughed incredulously, pointing at my forehead:
“She smashed a bottle against my head, and I just returned a slap. This is how concerned you are?”
“Tyler Hayes, had enough of your prince–turned–frog game? Let’s break up.”
I turned to leave. Tyler instinctively chased after me, grabbing my wrist:
“Emma, don’t go, I-”
Olivia immediately cried out pitifully:

Chapter 6
“Tyler, I’m pregnant! My belly hurts so badly right now.”
Tyler’s eyes wavered, and after hesitating, he finally let go of my hand.
“Emma, don’t be difficult right now. Go home and wait for me. I’ll explain everything tomorrow.”
With that, he carried Olivia away without any backward glance.
I watched his retreating back and smiled helplessly. Tomorrow?
Tomorrow’s your engagement ceremony.
Oh wait, Olivia’s pregnant, so maybe you’d skip the engagement and go straight to marriage.
My manager sent me a message:
“Emma, the client was very satisfied with your performance. Here’s your payment.”
The transfer amount was substantial. Olivia’s generosity was overwhelming.
Tyler’s messages came one after another:
“Emma, things aren’t what they seem. When I’m done with all this, I’ll explain everything clearly. Just wait a little longer for me, okay?”
I had already waited five years. I didn’t want to wait anymore.
As the clock struck midnight, marking our sixth anniversary, he was about to marry another woman.
I sent him my final text:
“Tyler Hayes, congratulations on your engagement.”
The next second, Tyler’s phone call came through.
The phone rang again and again until a soft voice beside me said:
“Why is it that every time I see you, you’re injured?”
