Chapter 55 Are You Controlling Me?
After reading Celeste’s message, Logan frowned and replied, [My friend and I started this company together. If you want twenty percent, I need to discuss it with him before I can give you an answer. Do you mind waiting?]
Celeste: [I don’t mind.]
Logan: [Then I’ll look for you after I’ve discussed it with my friend.]
Celeste replied ‘okay‘ before putting down her phone.
She felt that the offer she had just made was quite tempting, so Logan and his partner probably wouldn’t refuse. Next, she just had to wait for his reply.
Celeste yawned and fell asleep on the desk again.
She felt as if she had a disease that made her sleepy as soon as class started.

Celeste: [You don’t know how to cook at all, so don’t go to my kitchen.]

Marcus: [Can you be back in ten minutes?]

She had never heard him mention it before. How did she know where his apartment was?
“I don’t know,” she said.
Declan said in disdain, “I’m also in Brity Apartment. I’m in the same building as you, but I’m on the sixth floor and you’re on the eighth floor. It’s 601 tonight. Remember to come over early. Don’t make me wait for you with Mom and Dad.”
Celeste said that she understood. Just as she was about to leave, Declan called out to her again. “By the way, I heard you pushed Chloe this morning.”

“Did you do this?” Celeste asked.
“Yes, it’s the only thing I know how to cook. Sit down and try it.”
He didn’t know how to cook anything else. He only knew how to cook steak. He looked quite classy.
Celeste went to the chair and sat down. She looked at the wine on the side and picked it up to taste it.
“This wine tastes like Lafite 1982, right?”
Marcus said in surprise, “You know about wine?”
“Just a little.”
When she was still in the Sinclair family, Logan had brought her to taste a lot of wine, and her favorite was Lafite 1982. The flavor lingered in her lips and teeth. It was very delicious.
Celeste shook the goblet twice and downed the red wine in her hand.
“One more.”
Marcus said, “You seem to be a good drinker.”
Marcus poured another glass of wine for Celeste and began to cut the steak. “I cooked the steak medium–well. See if you like it.”
“I like it well–done, but medium–cooked is fine.” Her taste was special.
“A well–done steak will make the steak lose its original flavor, but a medium–well steak is just right.”
The medium–well steak looked red. She didn’t like the color.
For she had eaten unripe meat with a man in the forest when she had gone to summer camp many years before.

She was determined not to eat raw meat.
Celeste ate the steak on her plate, feeling uncomfortable as she ate.

After Celeste finished thinking, she got up and went to the kitchen to cook the steak again under Marcus‘ gaze.

“Can I help you?” Marcus asked.
Celeste flipped the steak in the pot and replied, “No need.”
Not long after, Celeste carried the cooked steak to Marcus and ate it bite by bite.
“Steak is supposed to taste like this.”
Marcus was speechless.
She didn’t look like she’d had much of a steak, and she didn’t know much about steak.
Marcus took the red wine beside him and tried to taste it. Celeste snatched it away. “Your wound hasn’t recovered yet. Why are you drinking?”
“A glass should be fine,” he said.
Never mind a glass, she wouldn’t even let him take a sip. “No.”
Celeste finished the wine in his glass under Marcus‘ gaze.
Marcus looked at Celeste and asked, “Are you controlling me now?”
