Chapter 79 A Groundless Accusation
“Are you kidding me?”
Declan would rather die than submit to Celeste.
Conrad said seriously, “Bro, it is a stall tactic.
“Won’t you be free again when she feels your so–called changes?”
Declan would, but it was impossible for him to pretend to submit to Celeste.
“No, get me another idea.”
Conrad felt helpless.
“That’s all I got. Think about it yourself. I will be late for work. I have to go now. Bye.”
Hearing Conrad, Declan asked, “What work? Aren’t your parents rich?”
Didn’t he have the answer?
Conrad let out a sigh before he said, “Yes, they are. However, my dad suspended my allowance to prevent me from financially supporting you.
“To buy the stuff I like, I have to work now.”
Work?
Why hadn’t it occurred to Declan earlier?
He didn’t need to submit to Celeste as long as he could fend for himself.
With work, he didn’t need to sell his pride for money.
Collecting his thoughts, Declan asked excitedly, “Where do you work? I will join you.”
Conrad was shocked.
“Are you serious?”
“Wasn’t my tone serious?” Declan wondered.
“Of course. I have thought about it. As long as I can earn money, Celeste’s threat won’t work.
“From today on, I will work with you. Where are you? I will go pick you up right away.”
Declan sounded sincere, so Conrad gave him an address and planned to meet him there. Declan happily left home with the address.
Celeste slept on though she heard the noise caused by Declan.
*****
It was early the next morning.
Celeste went to the hospital. Her foot had improved a lot.
Thanks to the ointment, her private parts didn’t ache anymore.
She looked radiant and seemed to be in a good mood.
Her plan for that day excited her…
She intended to get back at Isolde.
It was time for Isolde to pay the price for her bad deeds.
Wearing a new mask on her face, Celeste drove to the hospital. She got her phone and the old mask back from the nurse.
Then, she went to see the warehouseman before heading toward Isolde’s office.
Isolde was in her office. She was surprised to see Celeste, who was supposed to be at campus now.
“Celeste, don’t you come on the weekends? It’s Monday today.”
Sullen, Celeste sat opposite Isolde and said, “I didn’t come for the internship, but you. I have a couple of questions for you.” Isolde smiled at the grim Celeste. “You could call me. You didn’t have to come here yourself.”
Celeste said with a gloomy face, “We need a goor stall

Isolde blinked her eyes because the look in Celeste
Go ahead, Celeste.”
Celeste then cut to the chase. “Saturday night, I was locked up in the warehouse where the herbs were stored. You tried to let me freeze to death, didn’t you?”
Isolde was shocked.

Chapter 79 A Groundless Accusation
She did let the warehouseman lock Celeste in the warehouse, but she didn’t want to kill Celeste at all..
She was completely ignorant of the latter part of the story.
Isolde quickly collected herself. “Celeste, what are you talking about? There was no reason for me to do that.
“To freeze you to death in the warehouse? What a groundless accusation!”
A groundless accusation?
Celeste sneered. “Before I came here, I met the warehouseman. He told me that the warehouse is locked at 6 PM.
“That day, you kept calling him and told him to lock the warehouse before 5 PM. You even prevented him from checking the warehouse as his duty required before he locked it.
“Around 8 PM, the temperature in the warehouse was lowered to minus 18 degrees. I didn’t get recused till 11 PM. I was unconscious when I was carried out of the warehouse.
“It is clear that someone tried to freeze me to death. Isolde, am I in your way? Do you hate me so much that you are anxious to kill me?”
Isolde did hate Celeste, but she had never thought of killing Celeste.
Her intent was to teach Celeste a lesson by locking Celeste in the warehouse.
Why did Celeste think that Isolde intended to kill her? What a misunderstanding!
“Isolde, what a misunderstanding! I let the warehouseman lock the door before 5 PM because of the regular gatherings for the medical staff.
“The warehousemen have their gatherings on Saturday. I got the warehouse locked at 5 PM, so the man on shift could leave one.hour earlier.
“As for the change in the temperature, I knew nothing about that.
“You’re my little sister anyway. I won’t take your life, no matter how bad our relationship is.”
Celeste didn’t believe a single word that Isolde said.
In her eyes, Isolde was guilty.
“Isolde, if you are done, it is my turn now. I don’t buy your story.
“To me, you are the culprit. If you don’t want to be kicked out of the Huxley family, you need my forgiveness.”
Isolde was dumbfounded.
Why was Celeste so unreasonable?
Isolde had explained herself, but Celeste still saw her as the culprit.
Isolde’s tone became impatient. “Celeste, you are slandering me! As I said, I don’t want your life. Why don’t you believe me?” Why should Celeste believe Isolde?
Celeste took out her phone and placed it on the table.
Isolde swallowed hard and clenched her fists. “Celeste, what do you mean?”
