Chapter 9
When Marcus fully awoke, it was already late morning. The hangover made his head throb dully. He was about to call Emma to find him some painkillers, but opening his eyes, he saw the divorce certificate lying beside him.[]
He stared for a moment, then frowned as he opened it.[]
“Emma, what are you playing at? I had a few drinks yesterday, and you’re threatening me with a divorce certificate?“]
As he flipped through it while standing up, he froze when he saw the names printed on the certificate–it was genuine.]
His face changed instantly. Ignoring his headache, he quickly dressed and rushed downstairs, but he couldn’t find Emma anywhere trace of her.

All her belongings had completely vanished, as if she had never existed in his life.[]
His expression darkened, unreadable thoughts swirling behind his eyes. After a long moment, Marcus pulled out his phone, only to blocked him on everything.[]

Emma had really left. But why? Hadn’t he been good enough to her lately? And she loved him so much–how could she possibly leave?]
He sat on the sofa, his head still pounding.
Suddenly, his phone chimed with a new message. He quickly brightened the screen–it was from Vivian.[]
[Marcus, are you busy? I suddenly want those Frozen S’more from Dominique Ansel Bakery. Will you get me some? Pretty please?]]]
Followed by a cute emoji.]]
Seeing Vivian’s message, Marcus immediately set aside thoughts of Emma and drove toward Dominique Ansel Bakery.

In his mind, this was definitely Emma’s ploy for attention. He was tired of pretending to love her. Since Emma wanted to play this game of divorce, let’s see who would come crawling back begging for reconciliation:[]
Marcus gave a cold laugh, dismissing Emma from his thoughts.
He drove for two hours, then waited in line for half a day to buy the Frozen S’more from Dominique Ansel Bakery. By the time he reached Vivian’s place, it was already evening.
His sister looked like she had just woken up. Seeing him arrive, she immediately rushed over.
“Marcus!”
He caught her, his

of love.[]
“I brought you the Frozen S’more. Better eat them while they’re fresh.“[]
He pulled out the carefully wrapped dessert, delighting Vivian. “Thank you, Marcus.“[]
She took them, unwrapped them carefully, and took a photo. Then she pouted with mild reproach.[]
“You only bought one serving? Emma loves this dessert too. She’s going to be upset! Let me split these with her–make sure you bring her portion to her, okay?“]] Vivian hadn’t yet realized Emma had left. She first posted the photo on Instagram, then opened her chat with Emina. But the carefully taken photo couldn’t be sent–a red exclamation mark appeared.[]
“Einma has blocked me, Marcus! Did you do something to upset her again?”
Hearing his sister’s accusation, Marcus scoffed.
“I didn’t do anything. She left on her own.
With that, Marcus took out the divorce certificate. At home, he hadn’t thought much about it, but now, facing the love he’d never been able to have, Marcus couldn’t help but speak sofuly.]
“Vivian, isn’t this better? Emma wanted a divorce, and now she’s gone. We finally have a chance to be together, not just as siblings, like during our vacation days.”
As he spoke, he moved closer step by step. Vivian’s face showed panic as Marcus quickly cornered her against the wall.]

“Brother, we’re siblings… our family would never allow this.
She was about to say more, but couldn’t resist Marcus’s demands. Just like during the time when it was just the two of them, they acted like real lovers, sleeping
in each other’s arms every night, being intimate without worrying about others‘ views, even sleeping together.]
Marcus grabbed his sister’s wrist, pinning her against the wall, the corners of his eyes red–as he fiercely kissed her.]
Ive said it before–for you, I’d even cut ties with the family!“]]
