Chapter 14
Emma’s whereabouts weren’t hard to find. Her hometown was in LA. Back then, everyone knew she had given up her family to stay in NY for Marcus.]
Marcus bought a ticket on the next flight to LA and headed to the Watson residence.[
One reason Mr. Shaw had approved of Emma was their equal social standing. The Watson family’s foundation was in LA and was comparable to the Shaw family. Additionally, Emma had been utterly devoted to Marcus, not only taking care of him in daily life but also sharing her family’s business with the Shaws. This was why Mr. Shaw specifically wanted him to win her back.
In everyone’s eyes, Emma was just throwing a tantrum. They all believed that if Marcus lowered his pride to coax her, Emma would obediently return. Both, Marcus and Vivian thought this way, but when he arrived at the Watson mansion and was stopped at the gate, Marcus couldn’t believe it.]*
“Didn’t you hear me? I’m Marcus Shaw. I’m here to see Emma. Let me in. Since when does a mere butler make decisions for the Watson family?” The butler shook his head, firmly blocking Marcus’s path.[]
“I’m sorry, Mr. Shaw, but these are the Watson family’s wishes. Since the divorce, neither Mrs. Watson nor Miss Watson wants to see you.“].
“That’s impossible!”
Marcus exclaimed in shock, his brows tightly knit. He hadn’t expected that his first step in LA would be blocked at the Watson family’s door. Just as he was getting anxious, the butter suddenly bowed deeply.
“Welcome home, Miss Watson.“]
At these words, Marcus turned around to see Emma.

These words from her lips shocked him. He had never imagined their first reunion would be Emma would eagerly return to remarry him, not display this cold attitude.

In that moment, it felt like a needle had pierced his heart. He grabbed Emma’s wrist and pulled her close, his eyes cold with
fury.
“Is this guy the reason? We’ve barely been divorced, and you already have someone new? Emma, couldn’t get me in bed so you went looking for another man? I had no idea you were so desperate!”
He laughed mockingly, his gaze shifting to the side, sizing up the other man.
“How many times have you slept with him? If you come back and remarry me, I promise we’ll sleep together immediately. How’s that?”
He was about to say more, but Emma wrenched her hand free and slapped him hard across the face.
Her eyes no longer held coldness–just disgust and revulsion.
“Marcus Shaw, you make me sick. You’re only here for Vivian’s sake, right? Don’t you want to be with her? I’ve given you the space now, aren’t you satisfied?“[] So she had known all along!
Marcus held his face, his expression dark and uncertain. Only now did he take the time to truly observe Emma.[]
He hadn’t expected that in just these two short months, she would become even more beautiful than before. Vivian had always been childlike, but Emma was different–always dignified and elegant, Now her aura was even more refined, completely unlike the busy housewife she had been during their marriage.[]
He calmed himself and spoke slowly.
“Vivian is your best friend and my sister. Emma, even if you want to sever ties with me, you shouldn’t hurt her heart.
At the mention of Vivian, Emma’s expression wavered slightly, then she gave a bitter smile.
She had always considered Vivian her best friend, but how had Vivian treated her?]
