Chapter 48
She shook her head, but said nothing, just stared at the dont
Anna leaned on her crutches, her steps very quick, but also very fra
“Ella, how’s Liam?” She reached Stella’s face.
“He’s still inside.”
Anna looked around, but didn’t notice the tall figure,
“Where’s Nathan? Now that this has happened, didn’t he come here and just want to stand next to that woman?
“I’ve already called him. He said he’d be here soon. He just didn’t know why he needed to come, so I’ll call him an
Filipo finished his sentence, picked up the phone and called Nathan
Nathan took a long time to answer, and when Filipo saw this he couldn’t help but become even angrier.
“Nathan, what are you doing? Did you know that Liam had an accident? Why didn’t you come here?”
Nathan coughed several times, his breathing was a little heavy, until Filipo realized that something was wrong with him.
“What happened to you?”
“It’s okay…” – Nathan finally said, but his voice was so deep and hoarse. – “I’ll be there.”
He finished his sentence and hung up.
The whole family was waiting outside the operating room.
A lot had happened lately, and Anna’s body was swaying for a while, so Filipo quickly supported her and led her to the chair.
“Mom, pay more attention to your health.”
Anna waved her hand to indicate that she was fine.
Hearing quick footsteps, everyone was looking down the corridor, it was Nathan who had appeared.
Only it was different with the usual Nathan, right now he seemed to be in a difficult situation.
Outside the temperature was below freezing, but he wasn’t wearing a coat, just a thin black shirt, and on his forehead there was a bloody bandage, the blood was dripping and sticking to his hair.
But he seemed to ignore it, he simply wiped the blood away.
“Nathan, what happened to you?” – Carla said shocked, and reached for a handkerchief to help him clean the wound on his forehead, but Nathan pulled his hand away.
“It’s okay, I just had a little accident.”
Filipo at that moment remembered the time he called Nathan, supposedly he had been in a car accident, at that time he should
have been at the scene.

“Why should that be acceptable?” – Carla frowned, but Nathen ignored her and looked at Stelle, who was still standing in for i the operating door.
Stella’s eyes were fixed on the cosed door, as if she was unaware of the movement near her, the didn’t even notice or respond to Nathan’s movement.
“Stella.” – Nathan’s hoarse voice called out to her for a while,
But she didn’t answer, she didn’t even turn her head.
Nathan reached out and wanted to take her hands. But when he only touched lightly for a moment, she became exively fierce, she shook off his hand and took a few steps back, she was so protected against him.
“What happened?”
“Don’t touch me, don’t touch me…” – Stella said.
Right now she was thinking, Liam was in trouble because of her.
She plunged into that kind of thinking and couldn’t shake it off.
“Stella!” – Nathan’s voice was getting heavier, he frowned. He looked at Stella’s appearance, his heart also felt deflated, and he was immediately hurt.
But he hadn’t expected to find Liam in good condition that afternoon either, tonight something bad had happened to him and he collapsed in the emergency room.
Receiving the call from Filipo, he was in an important meeting, so without caring about anything else, he wanted to rush to the hospital. He also didn’t remember how he got to the hospital on his own, how fast he drove his car. All he knew was that he didn’t notice the traffic light and was finally hit head–on by a car.
His body was leaning forward, his head hitting the steering wheel.
One more call from Filipo, he was leaning heavily on his hand to unfasten his seatbelt. He didn’t wait for the police, he just called Marlon to let him come, and he flagged down a cab, let the driver use his fastest speed to take him quickly to the hospital.
The emergency door finally opened, and Stella was the first to rush forward.
“Doctor, how’s Liam?”
He took off his mask, his expression serious.
“The condition of Liam’s illness is not very optimistic or hopeful. I told you before, what we need now is a totally relaxed condition. It’s best to maintain an optimistic and happy atmosphere, he can’t be in an intense and sad mood, but you all haven’t done that…”
Stella’s hands and feet were so cold that an enormous pain seized her.
“Doctor, so what to do now? You should be able to help him, he couldn’t…” – Anna said.
“Anna, don’t worry, we’ll make every effort, but right now, because of this less than optimistic situation, we need to open a big meeting to discusst step we should take, but…” The Doctor paused for a moment and then looked at everyone. – “We can only do our best, but we can’t guarantee that he’ll be able to regain consciousness, so I hope you’re all mentally prepared…”
“No, no, Liam’s not going to die, he’s not. He said he’ll always be by my side, how can he die…” – Stella shook her head continuously, mumbled to herself, her face getting paler and paler.

Chapter 48
Nathan held her shoulder.
“Stella, calm down.”
“Ella, don’t scare Grandma…” – Anna held both of Stella’s hands for while, she felt that her hands were very cold,
“It’s me, it’s all because of me. Otherwise, Liam will be fine. It’s my fault, I did it… it’s me…” – Stella touched her heart, her tears fell like rain, her words suddenly stopped for a while, she felt her gaze begin to blur, she gradually began to be unable to see clearly. her body was limp and she fell.
“Stella!” – Nathan supported her, but she had already fainted.
“Nathan, hurry. Tell her to get some rest first.” – Filipo said.
Nathan bent down and carried Stella, he felt she was so light, supposedly she hadn’t eaten much lately.
