Chapter 68
“Ella, come here for a moment, have something to tell you. “Victor then looked at Stella.
Caroline pulled Liam to the other side.
“Go on, I’ll look after Liam.”
Stella nodded and followed Victor to the other side, then looked at him.
“Victor, what’s the matter?”
Victor passed her a box. She had noticed it before, but didn’t mind too much, but she hadn’t expected it.
“What’s this? “Stella was puzzled.
She was about to open the box, but Victor stopped her.
“This your birthday present, although it’s been a few weeks, I hope it’s not too late. Open it when you’re home.”
Stella smiled.
“Okay, thanks.”
“Silly girl, what are you doing saying that? “Victor stroked her forehead for a while as he usually did, then he called her by name again.
“Ella.”
“Em?”
Stella felt that Victor was a little strange today, as if he had something to say there, but didn’t know how.
“Victor, if you have anything, just say the word.”
Victor’s gaze fell on her little face.
“How’s your relationship with Nathan lately?”
Stella was startled. Between her and Nathan, Caroline clearly knew her, she believed that Caroline had already told her everything.
“Nothing much!”
“Are you still going to wait until Liam has recovered from his illness and then divorce him?
When Nathan returned from abroad, they had discussed it, so there would be no change.
Stella said this and then smiled, which made him feel relieved.
“Victor, don’t worry about me and Liam, our problem…”
Victor nodded and, after a while, said.
“Actually, this time my mother is rushing me to America, she wants me to meet someone. “When he said that, he stared at her little

face because he wanted to know her expression.
“What person?”
“The youngest daughter of the Johnson family.”
Stella knew that person.
“The one who’s studying in America?” Victor nodded.
“My mother doesn’t think I’m young anymore. She wants me to get married as soon as possible. “He paused. “Ella, how do you feel?”
Stella was startled for a while, a faint thought appearing inside her heart. In fact, she’s a brilliant woman, how could she not realize Victor’s intention of saying that in front of her?
He only investigated her intention, he wanted to see her reaction.
Stella knew at this point what she should answer, yet she couldn’t, and Victor laughed bitterly.
“Ella…”
Stella pointed to the security check–in channel.
“It’s almost time, you should go in.”
He had already received his boarding pass before his flight had even been called. In fact, he had known all along that Stella would
show this kind of reaction, but Victor still wanted to be sure.
After Victor had checked in, Caroline drove the car to send mother and son home. She looked at the box in Stella’s hand.
“What’s this?”
“Victor said it was my belated birthday present.”
Caroline was silent for a moment.
“Actually, Ella, you’re very clever. You shouldn’t have known that about you, Victor…
“Caroline. “Stella interrupted her. “I don’t want to hear it.”
Caroline shrugged, somewhat helplessly.
“Look at you, every time I mention it to you, you answer like that. Anyway, in no time at all, you’re going to divorce Nathan, so why can’t you stay with him?
“Victor is like a brother to me.”
“It’s just your own positive thinking. “Caroline hit the nail on the head. “In Victor’s heart, he supposedly never thought of you as his little sister. If that year wasn’t because of your father’s selfish act, now maybe your marriage partner will be Victor. You’ll both live happily, and you don’t have to receive this unfair treatment either…”
“All right, don’t say that anymore…“Stella felt very dizzy in the head, she looked at the back seat. It was a good thing that Liam had already fallen asleep in his car seat. She also leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes, obviously she didn’t want to talk to Caroline about this.

Chapter 68
In the evening.
From Liam’s room, Stella returned to her bedroom. She looked at the box she had placed on the sofa earlier. She just remembered that she hadn’t opened Victor’s present.
She untied the bow and opened the box.
Inside was a photo.
It was a photo of her when she was ten.
She had met Victor when she was ten, but she didn’t know how he get hold of this photo of her or when it was taken.
She was in her room practicing to play the cello. At the time, she felt very stupid because she never reached Fernanda’s musical standard. So she always hid in her room to practice, but she never really satisfied Fernanda.
Victor is three years older than her. She still remembered his appearance that day, he was wearing a white shirt and appeared at her window. His smile was so warm it could melt winter. He passed her a piece of cake and said, “Happy birthday
Before she had never had anyone say those two words to her. Every time, she was the only one who said them to herself.
This photo was probably taken secretly by Victor, he put it in a beautiful frame and gave it to her.
Stella felt a little moved and touched. She used her hand to touch the photo
In front of her, a hand suddenly appeared and touched the edge of the photo. She was surprised and got up from the sofa. She seemed to have hit something and heard a crashing sound. She turned her body and noticed that Nathan was holding his chin and his eyebrows were furrowed.
“What are you doing?” Stella came rushing over.
He kneaded his chin, but didn’t answer. Instead, his dark eyes just stared at her.
Stella felt strange being stared at by him, so she turned her head away. Just as she was about to leave, he grabbed her shoulder to make her turn around, and as before his dark eyes were staring at her.
“Did you just cry?”
Stella rubbed her eyes, of course she wasn’t going to admit it.
“No.”
Nathan took the photo from her hand and looked at it closely,
“I didn’t know you could play the cello.”
“In the past, my mother was a cellist. But I couldn’t play. I was very stupid, I studied for a long time, but I still couldn’t do it.”
Nathan paid attention to her words, she was laughing at herself, but showing a certain disgust.
He felt that his heart was being ruthlessly pricked.
