Sex With The Maid: Two Men and A Lady
CERCI IN HER EMPLOYER’S OFFICE -2
As I stepped outside into the bright morning, I tried to ignore the hollow feeling in my chest. This was the right decision. So why did it feel like I was leaving something essential behind?
BERNARD STARK:
Why in God’s name had I answered that call?
“Hello, Mr. Stark? Are you still there?” The voice on the line pulled me from my momentary lapse in attention.
“Yes, I’m here.” I forced my voice into its professional register, despite the tension coiling at the base of my spine.
“This is Sandra Turner from Sandra’s Magnificent Maids. I wanted to inquire if you would be amenable to a change in your household staff.”
I stared out at the Boston skyline from my office window, the same view but somehow less captivating than when seen from my penthouse. I had recognized the number on my screen before answering. I knew precisely who was calling and what it likely concerned. Yet I’d picked up anyway, despite being in the middle of my workday with a dozen more pressing matters demanding my attention.
“What precisely is wrong with my current housekeeper?” I asked, signing off on the segment board with more force than necessary, my pen nearly tearing through the paper.
“She’s been personally requested by another client,” Sandra explained, her voice carefully neutral. Something inside me tightened at her words–a visceral response I had neither anticipated nor welcomed.
*Ms. Turner, is this how you typically conduct business?” The edge in my voice surprised
even me.
“I’m not sure I understand-
“Perhaps you’re unaware, but I value my privacy considerably. I don’t adjust well to unnecessary changes. It’s taken me over a month to become comfortable with your current employee in my home–my private space–and now you’re informing me she’s

Wh. Sturk, I would never

The reality was unmistakable now. She had rejected my impulsive proposal and was no‘ trying to distance herself completely. The very same woman who had passionately lentured me about the value of perseverance and hard work was now abandoning at perfectly good position.
The hypocrisy was staggering.
George would undoubtedly assume I’d driven her away out of jealousy. But that was
absurd. We had never established exclusivity. We hadn’t been with anyone else in years. at least I hadn’t–but that didn’t change the fact that our arrangement had always maintained a certain flexibility, at least im theory.
“She’s nothing more than a housekeeper, Ilmuttered to the empty office. So why was I experiencing this inexplicable surge of firustration?
“Mr. Stark?” A tentative voice brake timugh my thoughts.
“What?” I snapped, causing my assistant to physically recoil, her hand instinctively adjusting her glasses.
“I… um… the meeting is about toolbegin,” she stammered, clearly debating whether the information was worth endiuing my evilent irritation.
I rubbed my eyes, immediately regretting my harshness. “I’ll be right there.”

“What’s on the agenda?” I asked as I entered the conference room, taking my customary seat. An intern hurried forward to place a coffee cup before me.
Scarlet de Burgh, my producer, stood gracefully, her chestnut hair brushing her shoulders as she moved to the head of the table. The subtle scent of her perfume announced her presence before she even began speaking.
“The Governor MacDowell investigation continues to yield results,” she began, her voice smooth and professional. “The deeper we dig, the more connections we uncover. We’ve found correspondence linking Tyson Pharmaceuticals and RMH to his office, all with questionable financial arrangements. Everyone involved is denying any impropriety, of course. Law enforcement remains tight–lipped-”
“Who do we have stationed at police headquarters?” I interrupted, lifting the coffee cup to my lips.
“Success in this business is about perfect timing.” The liquid touched my tongue, and I immediately pulled back, nearly spitting it out. My gaze locked on the now–terrified intern. “What exactly is this?”
“Your… coffee, sir?” he replied, his voice barely audible.
I removed the lid, revealing the milky contents. “I drink my coffee black. Does this appear black to you? I’m not asking for something complicated–just the absence of additives. This one simple preference has been noted in my file for years.”
The young man’s face had gone completely pale, his career aspirations visibly crumbling before my eyes. Something in his expression–perhaps the same fear I’d seen in Cerci’s eyes the first time we’d met–made me pause.
“Just… get it right next time,” I said finally, setting the cup aside and returning my attention to Scarlet. “Continue with the report.”
The relief in the room was palpable. My staff exchanged confused glances, clearly expecting the public execution they’d witnessed countless times before. I ignored their surprise, focusing instead on the unsettling realization that something had shifted within me–and I wasn’t entirely sure I welcomed the change.
As Scarlet resumed her presentation, my thoughts drifted back to Cerci. Despite my efforts to focus on the meeting, I couldn’t shake the memory of her face illuminated by

moonlight as she extended her hand into the night air from my Ferrari, her words about dreams and adventures echoing in my mind with surprising persistence.
