Stella looked up sharply to see Alaric standing in the doorway.
She instantly understood.
“You drugged my orange juice?” she demanded furiously. “What the hell are you trying to do, Alaric?”
Alaric let out a cold laugh, stepping forward to grip her chin.
“I should be asking you that question. Why did you drug Jenna?”
“Just because she accidentally broke your mother’s artwork, you drugged her? Wanted to humiliate her in public, ruin her reputation, even her virtue?”
“She’s practically a child! Stella, how could you be so vicious?”
Stella was stunned speechless.
“I never drugged Jenna!”
Alaric released her with a dismissive shove.
“Stop denying it! I asked Jenna myself. The only thing she drank today was a glass of water you gave her. If it wasn’t you, who was it?”
In that moment, Stella finally understood the meaning of blind devotion.
One word from Jenna, and Alaric had condemned her without question.
“You’re insane,” she said with a bitter laugh, struggling to reach for her phone to call an ambulance.
But Alaric snatched her phone away.
“What are you doing, Alaric?”
Alaric looked down at her with contempt.
“This drug is potent. An ambulance won’t help you. Your only option is to beg me.”
Stella was bewildered. “Beg you for what?”
“To help you, of course,” Alaric sneered. “But I have conditions. You must kneel and apologize to jenna. Then I’ll help you.”
Stella stared at Alaric in disbelief.
He had just finished having sex with Jenna in the car, and now he wanted to “help” her too?
