Yet, I clearly didn’t know any members of the Cole family.
“This is Miss.Garcia? You are truly beautiful, with a slender figure and an aura of elegance. No wonder you are so talented,” Mrs.Cole
greeted me, starting off with compliments.
I was astonished and somewhat flattered by her praise.
Although I had often been praised as a beauty and often admired my reflection in the mirror, indulging in a bit of vanity, I found it hard to believe that someone from the prestigious Cole family, who must have seen countless stunning women, could still find me beautiful.
It must be that Mrs. Cole was well–cultured and emotionally intelligent.
Seeing me in a daze, Mr.Clark quietly reminded, “This is Mrs.Cole.”

I quickly smiled and nodded. “How do you do, Mrs. Cole. Thank you for the kind words.”
“Mm, your voice is lovely too.”
I felt my face flush at the compliment and could only reciprocate, “Actually, with your looks and grace, you don’t resemble one bit of an elderly lady.”
Mrs.Cole chuckled, “I’m turning sixty next
month!”
She was warm and friendly, showing no airs, completely different from my preconceived notion of a lady from a wealthy family.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, we got
down to business.
She needed several outfits made for her
upcoming sixtieth birthday and, being youthful
in attitude, she didn’t want to wear the styles typically associated with her age, which is why she sought me out.
“I want styles that are youthful but don’t seem

forced or immature when I wear them,” she
said.
Understanding her needs, I observed
her presence and demeanor. After some
consideration, I felt confident, “Alright, I’ll take your measurements first.”
Mrs.Cole spread her arms wide to stand still while I began measuring her, with Miss.Parker assisting me by taking notes.
Several other ladies were seated in the hall, and while I was busy, they were engaged in their own discussions.
Initially, I didn’t pay much attention, but later I realized that they were talking about issues about marriage.
More specifically, they were selecting a wife for Sebastian Cole, the legendary Mr.Cole.
“Elysia, with so many socialites and young ladies around, hasn’t Sebastian found anyone he likes?” one woman asked.
“Nope, not a single one; this is already the third

batch,” another replied.

“Sebastian has high standards; otherwise, he wouldn’t still be single,” a third added.
Mrs.Cole snorted, “He’s doing it on purpose.”
“Aunt, I think these young ladies are beautiful but lack depth. Some are clearly plastic surgery cases; who knows what their true qualities are? It’s no wonder Sebastian isn’t interested.”
After taking Mrs. Cole’s measurements and realizing the other women also needed clothes, I started measuring them one by one, instructing Miss.Parker to be sure not to make any mistakes.
Mrs.Cole sat back down and took a sip of tea, sizing me up. Suddenly, she asked, “Miss.Garcia, since you have a good eye for aesthetics, why don’t you help us decide which of these young ladies stands out?”
I almost gasped, turned to look at Mrs.Cole, then glanced down at the photos in front of me, quickly shaking my head, “I wouldn’t know; furthermore, matters like that depend on

personal likes between the individuals involved -outsiders can’t really gauge that.”
An older female relative chimed in, “I think
these so–called socialites can’t compare to
Miss.Garcia. They neither have her looks nor
her talents.”
I was taken aback by the compliment and hurriedly replied, “Thank you, ma’am, but I can’t compare myself to those young ladies.”
“Why can’t you compare? Your conditions are quite good; don’t underestimate yourself.”
I felt a bit speechless.
As a woman who had just been abandoned by her fiance, I certainly lacked that confidence at
the moment.
However, unexpectedly, Mrs. Cole suddenly asked, “Miss.Garcia, is there someone whom you take a shine?”
My ears perked up, and just as I finished. measuring one of the young ladies in front of me, I stood up and almost stumbled in surprise.

I began to suspect that the marketing manager’s joke from yesterday might have. some truth to it.
“Mrs.Cole, please don’t make jokes. My scandal is well–known; you must have heard of it,” I said, as it was common knowledge. I spoke openly about it without any hesitation.
Mrs.Cole furrowed her brow. “That incident had nothing to do with you; you were the victim.”
“Thank you for your words of comfort, Madam.”
“Then, does that mean you still love Mr.Lewis?”
While I was busy taking measurements of the next client, I responded, “No, I just want to focus on my career now.”
Before I had finished speaking, a tall figure descended the stairs.
At first, I didn’t notice, but someone called out, “Sebastian? Are we interrupting your work?”
“No, I’ve finished it.” A clean, crisp baritone

voice echoed, immediately reminding me of Mr.Cole, who had handed me a handkerchief at the wedding.
His voice had that same velvety quality, piercing through the noise around us.
I turned to look, finally seeing him clearly- a face that didn’t match my previous fleeting glance at the wedding.
Mr.Cole was extremely young and handsome, and definitely not resembling the “old gentleman” I had imagined.
With sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, he had a tall and straight posture that emanated a
military–like demeanor. His overall aura exuded
a sense of nobility and authority that made him. feel almost untouchable.
However, the way he spoke, his demeanor, and his mannerisms showed absolutely no sign of arrogance; instead, he appeared exceptionally warm and approachable.
I had heard of Sebastian Cole’s name before but didn’t have a good impression of him.

This was because Ryan Lewis held a grudge against him; Ryan had missed out on several major projects in the business world, all of which had been taken by Sebastian Cole.
Ryan Lewis believed Sebastian was relying on his family’s past glory to act unreasonable, using his power to suppress others and engaging in malicious competition, which left him quite dissatisfied.
Back then, I, too, found such high–tier elites detestable, imagining them to be snobbish and sharp–tongued.
But now, upon closer inspection, I realized he was nothing of the sort.
In fact, he was incredibly capable and admirable, refined and noble, deserving of all the glamorous accolades in the world.
“Sebastian, since you’re here, why don’t you
get measured too? If Miss.Garcia becomes
an internationally renowned designer in the future, we may not be able to engage her
again,” Mrs.Cole remarked playfully as she

noticed her son approaching.
I was once again surprised and responded with a smile, “Please, Madam, don’t praise me so much. It would be a dream come true just to serve the Cole family. As long as you need me in the future, just call on me anytime.”
I didn’t feel ashamed but rather self–aware.
This was the Cole family, after all–what kind of
international designers couldn’t they hire?
I couldn’t help but wonder if it was my mother and grandfather watching over me from above, granting me such a golden opportunity.
Sebastian Cole didn’t respond to his mother’s words, but I could hear his footsteps approaching the sofa.
“Mm, if Miss.Garcia is busy, then I’ll take a suit
as well,” Sebastian Cole said as he stood beside
- me.
I felt a bit nervous inside.
To be honest, from now until the middle of next

month, I would only be able to finish a dress for Mrs. Cole after working overtime for more than
half a month.
To pull in all the other ladies, I would need at
least three months of hard work.
Adding another Mr.Cole to the mix would truly
exhaust me.
“Miss.Garcia, I’m in no rush; you can first take my measurements and do mine later, after you finish with them.” His melodious, crisp voice
made it impossible to refuse.
I straightened my back and nodded at him,
“Okay, then please wait a moment, Mr.Cole.”
“There’s no need to be so formal, Miss.Garcia.
Just call me Sebastian.”
My head buzzed, thinking, when did we become
so familiar?
The key point was that no one else in the room seemed to have any objections to his words.
Suddenly feeling dry–mouthed, I glanced at him

again and smiled slightly, “Mr.Cole is joking; how could I call you by your first name?”
After saying that, I bent down again to take the measurements of the next young lady in front of
- me.
Once I had finally finished, Sebastian Cole
asked, “Am I next?”
