“Alpha Farrell, we suppose this gathering is for good?” Elder Elias asked, his tone carrying a hint of concern as he adjusted his seat at the conference table.
“Yes, Elder Elias. I only wish to wait for the Gamma to arrive before we proceed,” I replied calmly, and the elders nodded in agreement.
I sat at the head of the table, with Sandra seated to my right My brother, Raymond, sat directly across from me, while the six elders filled the seats along both sides of the table. Maids moved quietly, placing trays of snacks and fruit drinks in front of us.
Sandra fidgeted beside me, clearly restless. I hadn’t shared the purpose of this emergency meeting with her, knowing it would upset her. But this wasn’t just about her; it was about the pack. As Alpha, any decision I made inevitably impacted everyone under my care. I had to do this, no matter how difficult it was.
The sound of the double doors creaking open pulled my thoughts back to the room. Gamma entered, his expression calm but curious. He dipped his head respectfully before taking his seat.
“Alpha, Luna,” he greeted us with a slight nod.
1 cleared my throat, adjusting my posture to address the room. “Thank you all for coming on such short notice. I apologize for the abrupt message, but I felt it necessary to gather everyone here.”
The elders sat quietly, their expressions curious but composed.
“I know that since I assumed leadership after my father’s passing, you’ve all stood by me through thick and thin. Your unwavering support has carried this pack through challenging times, and for that, I am deeply grateful.” I paused, scanning their faces for reactions. They remained calm, waiting for me to continue.
“However, recent developments have compelled me to call this meeting,” I said carefully, choosing my words.
Elder Rykerr leaned forward, his tone supportive. “Alpha Farrell, if this concerns the hardships we’ve been facing, rest assured, we stand with you. We trust your judgment in leading us forward.”
“I appreciate your words, Elder Rykerr,” I replied, nodding. “But this is not about the pack’s struggles. It is… personal.”
Elder Elias furrowed his brows. “What troubles you, Alpha?
Taking a deep breath, I said the words I’d rehearsed a dozen times. “I have discovered that I have another mate.”
A stunned silence followed. Gasps and murmurs filled the room as Sandra’s head snapped toward me, her eyes blazing.
“What do you mean by that?” she demanded, her voice sharp and trembling with anger.
“I mean exactly what I said,” I replied steadily. “I, Alpha Farrell Alexander, have discovered another mate.”
Elder Rykerr frowned deeply. “Alpha Farrell, I’ve never heard of such a thing. A female may have more than one mate, but for a male? It’s unheard of.”
The other elders murmured in agreement, their expressions skeptical.
Sandra stood abruptly, her chair scraping against the floor. This is absurd! There can only be one Luna, and that is me!”

Her father, the Gamma, interjected, his tone measured. “Alpha, who is this mate of yours?”
Thesitated briefly, then answered, “Delilah. My wife.”
The room erupted in chaos.
Sandra’s laughter was bitter and cutting. “Are you even serious right now? How can your human ex–wife suddenly become your mate? She’s clearly manipulating you, trying to worm her way back into the pack. And you, Farrell, are foolish enough to fall for it!”
“Sandra!” Raymond snapped, his voice firm. “Let him explain.”
I raised my hand to silence the room. “Delilah is not a fake. She is my mate, and she is also King Maxwell’s mate. This is not a simple misunderstanding or manipulation. I called this meeting because I need guidance. Why would the Moon Goddess bless me with two mates at the same time? I need your wisdom on this matter.”
Elder Simeon, who had been quiet until now, spoke up. “Alpha, this is indeed unprecedented. But there are ancient methods to determine the truth. We must summon the pack witch to uncover the will of the Moon Goddess.”
The elders murmured in agreement, nodding their approval of his suggestion.
Sandra’s expression turned smug. “Yes, summon her. Let’s see this ‘mate bond‘ exposed for the lie it is. Delilah has no place here.”
I clenched my fists under the table but kept my voice steady. “Delilah is not the same woman you once knew. If she is my mate, the bond cannot be ignored.”
Elder Elias leaned forward. “Then it is settled. We will summon Delilah and the pack witch to uncover the truth.”
But Sandra wasn’t finished. Rising again, she addressed the room. “I have another suggestion. If this human thinks she can claim the position of Luna, let her prove her worth. There’s an old ritual–a fight between two rivals. If Delilah wins, she takes the throne. If I win, she leaves this pack forever.”
The elders exchanged uneasy glances, but no one voiced opposition.
My brother broke the silence. “Sandra, be careful what you wish for. Delilah is not the same weak human you remember.”
Sandra’s eyes flashed with defiance. “I’m not afraid of her.
The elders nodded solemnly. Elder Elias concluded, “Then we shall proceed. Summon Delilah and the pack witch. Let the truth–and the Goddess–decide.”
As the meeting adjourned, I couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling settling in my chest. This was only the beginning of the storm, and I wasn’t sure how much damage it would leave in its wake.
