“All you do is say you love me, but where is the love? Camila’s tears finally broke free, flowing down her cheeks as her body swayed slightly from the force of her emotions
Belinda’s sobs stopped abruptly. After Camila’s words, the finally noticed the injury on Camila’s forehead and the blood soaking her clothes.
Her heart ached with concern, and she rushed forward to hug Camila, but the coldness and rejection in Camila’s eyes froze her in place.
“Camila, what happened to your head?” Agnes gasped in shock. “Ah, Camila, you’re hurt!”
Harry’s eyes flashed with urgency, but the moment passed quickly. He replaced it with a sneer.
He scoffed, his laughter sharp and mocking “No wonder you’ve been acting so sarcastic since you walked in. So, you were just trying to play the martyr and get our attention
He tilted his head slightly, looking at her with utter contempt. “Camila, put away your little tricks. All this will do is make people sick of you.”
Belinda’s expression shifted to one of doubt and mild disappointment. She furrowed her brow slightly. “Camila, is that really what’s going on? How could you try to scare us like this with your injury?”
Arthur snorted dismissively. “Some people just can’t change.”
Camila couldn’t believe this was happening. She frowe, as though cold water had been poured over her from head to toe, and her heart felt like it had dropped into a deep freeze
She thought that, no matter how cold and distant this family was, they wouldn’t ignore her pain. But reality slapped her hard in the face. Not only had they ignored it, but now they also suspected she was faking it for sympathy.
At that moment, Camila’s exhaustion reached its breaking K point. She didn’t want to argue with them anymore. There was no
point.
“Think whatever you want, she said, straightening her back. Though the tears threatened to spill, she refused to let them fall. She wouldn’t show weakness in front of them.

She turned and made
le her wa
way toward the storage room.
“Stop right there?” Harry suddenly jumped to his feet, shouting, still wearing a look of disdain and anger.
Camila stopped, turned, and met his gaze with eyes as cold as ice.
Under the weight of Camila’s cold gaze. Harry’s heart lurched, his mind going completely blank. He forgot what he was
about to say next.
Camila stood there for a long time, her unblinking stare making the Jackson family feel uncomfortable, before she finally turned and walked away.
Agnes frightened, grabbed Belinda’s arm. “Mom, that look from Camila was terrifying
Belinda gently patted her arm in an attempt to comfort her. Yet, she couldn’t deny the unease in her heart. There was something in Camila’s eyes that made her feel as if Camila was prepared to drag them all down with her
“Camila has changed so much since five years ago,” Belinda said
“She’s completely uncivilized,” Arthur muttered bitterly. “She’s nothing like Agnes. If I’d known she’d turn out like this, Id rather she’d never been bom.”
Belinda sighed. “Stop, she’s still a girl. You shouldn’t speak to her like that. It’s hard for her too.”
Arthur’s anger flared. His shout was so loud that even Camila, already in the storage room, could hear it clearly.
Tm her father–what should I do to give her face? I’ve been too lenient with her, that’s why she’s so disrespectful. When she first came into this house, we should’ve set rules for her from the start.”
“Enough, just stop. Belinda interjected, cutting him off.
The argument raged on for a while before finally quieting down.
Camila slowly sank to the floor, her back against the door.
The room was pitch dark, and she curled up, burying her face in her knees. Finally, the tears she had been holding back broke free. The pain and frustration that had been building for so long flooded out like a dam breaking.
She cried silently, her clothes soaked with tears, but the hurt in her heart felt impossible to wash away.
When she had first arrived in this house, she had been full of hope, imagining it would be her safest refuge. Instead, it had turned into a cold prison, leaving her wounded. Everything she had endured was because of these so–called “Tamil
members.
She didn’t know how much time passed, but eventually, her sobs grew faint. She stumbled to the bed, lying down with her empty gaze fixed on the dark ceiling, still crying quietly.
Exhaustion and pain mingled as she finally drifted into a restless sleep. But even in her dreams, she found no peace.
The terrifying memories of being beaten in prison came flooding back, like ghosts haunting her. Her face twisted in terror. and she thrashed in the bed, her cries echoing through the room. “Help! Mom! Mom, help me?
Her cries were filled with fear and desperation, as if she had been thrust back into that hellish nightmare.
Just as she was lost in the depths of her nightmare, a warm hand gently landed on her back, rhythmically patting her. A soft, comforting voice followed. “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid. I’m here… I’m here with you..
The voice was aged, yet full of warmth and concern, like a light piercing through the darkness, trying to chase away her fear.

The door to the storage room was apar, the light from the hallway spilling in, revealing that it wasn’t Belinda who was comforting her, but Hazel.
Hazel sighed softly, her face full of sympathy, though she felt helpless.
She was just a servant with no real authority in the family, so all she could do was offer what little comfort she could to
Camila
The next morning, Camila woke up, her mind wandering. She realized she had dreamed that Belinda was holding her, comforting her.
Camila scoffed at herself. She had clearly lost her mind, clinging to these impossible fantasies,
