In the dining room. Arthur. Belinda, Harry, and Agnes were already seated Unusually, none of them had started eating.
When Camila entered, Belinda immediately stood up, walked over to her, and grabbed her hand warmly. “Camila, you must be hungry after such a long morning. Come sit down and have some breakfast,” She gently guided Camila to the table.
Arthur sat at the head of the table, with Harry to his right and Belinda to his left. Agnes naturally sat next to Belinda.
Camila had two choices: sit next to Harry or next to Agnes. She disliked both, but if she had to choose, she decided to sit beside Harry.
With a blank expression, Camila sat down next to him without a word. She picked up her spoon and silently began eating the ravioli in front of her.
The four members of the Jackson family all stared at her, each with a different expression.
Arthur looked visibly angry, though Belinda held him back, preventing him from lashing out at Camila.
Belinda’s face showed a hint of awkwardness. She wanted to remind Camila to greet her elders before eating, but remembering what had happened the night before, she bit her tongue and said nothing.
Agnes’s eyes flashed with resentment, but she quickly forced a smile. “Camila, these ravioli were made just for you by Hazel. Are they good?”
Her tone was playful, almost coaxing, but Camila ignored her completely, not even sparing her a glance. She remained focused on her plate.
Seeing this. Harry took a deep breath, trying to control the anger rising inside him. He forced a tight smile. “Camila, when you finish your breakfast, you should take off the bandage
“You weren’t even really hurt. Keeping it on like that makes it seem like you’re trying to make us feel sorry for you.”
–
Camila paused, a slight, mocking smile curving her lips. Without saying a word, she resumed eating as though nothing had happened.
She ate quickly, finishing the entire plate of ravioli in a few bites. After wiping her mouth with the napkin, she looked up at them. Im done. You all can take your time.”
Harry could no longer hold back his anger. He snapped at her. “Camila, what’s with that sour expression? Who are you showing it to?”
Camila glanced at him coldly, her face completely unreadable.
That look only made Harry angrier. He suddenly reached out to rip off the bandage, his voice full of venom. “Let’s see if your head is really injured or if you’re just faking it to play the victim.”
As the bandage was torn off, Camila felt a sharp pain shoot through her forehead. The seab that had just started to heal was violently ripped open, and blood immediately poured out, streaming down her face and staining her skin.
“I knew you were faking Harry’s words died in his throat as his eyes widened in disbelief. He stared at the bloodied Camila
In shock
Belinda gasped, her eyes welling up with tears as she cried out, “Camila, what happened to your forehead?”
Agnes’s eyes briefly flashed with satisfaction, but she quickly replaced it with a look of feigned concern. “Camila, are you okay?”

Chapter 24
Camila seemed oblivious to the pain, her eyes cold and distant. The blood that continued to drip down her cheek blurred everything around her, painting the world in red.
Camila’s gaze slowly swept over the four people before her. In that moment, they felt like demons from hell, devouring her soul and trampling her dignity.
“Are you all satisfied now?” Her voice was hoarse, not hysterical, but it landed with the force of a heavy blow, striking them
hard.
Yet, Arthur didn’t even flinch. He waved it off dismissively. “It’s just a small injury. It’s not like she’s going to die from it. Why make such a big deal?”
Silence. A suffocating, heavy silence.
Camila gripped the edge of the table, her fingers turning white from the pressure, as if she was ready to flip the table over.
As he remembered the last time she’d almost flipped the table, Arthur’s heart skipped a beat. He quickly slammed his hands down on the table, his eyes fixed on Camila, watching her every move.
Belinda, Harry, and Agnes, all anticipating that she might lose control again, hurriedly pressed down on the table.
Belinda’s hand trembled, her eyes full of anxiety. “Camila, please calm down. Your father didn’t mean it like that. He just… he thought your injury wasn’t too serious. He’s concerned about you…
Even she could tell how weak her excuse was, and she trailed off, too embarrassed to continue.
Camila’s eyes drilled into Belinda, as if she could see right through her. Belinda’s face flushed crimson, and she quickly looked away, unable to meet Camila’s gaze,
The tension in the room was unbearable.
Blood continued to trickle down Camila’s check, dripping onto the table. The deep red stain was hard to ignore, just like the broken pieces of her heart.
“Concerned about me? Camila’s words came out like they were forced through gritted teeth. “Such concern! Mr. Jackson, Mrs. Jackson, thank you so much for your ‘concern.” Without giving them a chance to respond, she turned on her heel and walked out.
Harry, irritated and no longer in the mood to eat, stood up. “Dad, Mom, I’m going to the office, he said, and left without a second thought.
Once in the car, Harry’s eyes fell on the blood–soaked bandage in his hand. The sharp pain hit him like a wave, spreading from his chest to every inch of his body, tightening his heart with guilt and confusion.
He slumped back in his seat, his mind flashing back to the morning Camila had left the house. She had been fine then, but when she came back in the evening, she was wearing a bandage.
He wondered, What happened to her that day? Has she been hurt by someone? Camila is my sister, my real sister. Even if she has made mistakes before, that doesn’t give anyone the right to hurt her:
Harry’s hands clenched into fists, then relaxed after a long moment. He picked up his phone and dialed a number.
“William, Harry said through gritted teeth, “Did you hurt Camila?”
“Is that why you’re calling me?” William’s calin voice came through, void of any emotion
Tm warning you. No matter what Camila did before, she’s already paid the price. She’s the daughter of the Jackson family,

and no one has the right to hurt her like that…
Before Harry could finish, the line went dead with a beep.
Furious, Harry slammed his phone onto the passenger seat. “Damn it!”
He sat there for a moment, trying to calm the anger boiling inside him. With a heavy sigh, he started the car and headed to
the office.
At work, however, his mind wouldn’t focus. He couldn’t stop thinking about Camila’s bloodied face, making him restless and
uneasy
After an hour of trying to concentrate, he couldn’t take it anymore. He grabbed his phone and called Hazel. “Hazel, how is Camila? Has has her injury been treated?”
