Belinda looked at Camila with hopeful eyes. “Camila, whatever you ask, I’ll do it. As long as it earns your forgiveness, I’m willing to do anything.”
Her words were full of sincerity, her gaze firm and unwavering. Anyone would be inclined to believe her. But Camila didn’t buy it.

Belinda’s hand clenched the fabric of her clothes, her heart caught between conflicting emotions. She looked at Camila, pleading with her eyes, but all she received was a cold, unyielding gaze in return.

Camila closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to steady herself. When she opened her eyes again, there was a resolve in them that made Belinda’s heart tighten.
“Alright, Mrs. Jackson. Since you’re so insistent, I’ll trust you one last time. But this is the final chance. If you fail again, we re done. Our paths will diverge completely.”
Belinda felt as if she’d been given a reprieve and nodded hurriedly, but her eyes betrayed her nervousness. She fixed her gaze on Camila, her body tense with anxiety. “What do you want?”
Camila met her gaze, unwavering. “The Jackson family has raised Agnes for 23 years. You’ve probably spent more than 30 million dollars on her, haven’t you?”
Belinda froze. “Camila, are you asking for money?”
Camila didn’t beat around the bush. “What I want, you can’t give me. The only thing you can give me is money. I don’t need 30 million dollars, just 3 million dollars. If you can manage that, everything that’s happened in the past will be forgiven.”
3 million dollars wasn’t much for Belinda, but it wasn’t a small sum either. It would take her some time to gather it. Compared to the previous demands, this one was the easiest for her to fulfill.
Belinda, fearing Camila might change her mind, quickly agreed. “Alright, I’ll give it to you.”
Seeing that she’d agreed, Camila didn’t have anything else to add. “You can go now. I’m tired.”
“Alright, I’m leaving… I’m leaving…” Belinda hurried away.
As Camila watched her go, a mocking smile curved at the corners of her lips. From the start, her goal had been clear–to get money.
But she knew that if she’d asked for 3 million dollars right from the beginning, Belinda would never have agreed. She wouldn’t even give her 150 thousand dollars a month for pocket money, so Camila couldn’t expect her to hand over 3 million dollars.
That was why she had set two demands that Belinda would find unreasonable and impossible to fulfill. That way, when she finally asked for the money, Belinda would agree without hesitation.
