Chapter 60 To Silence Her
Camila’s head snapped up at the furious accusation, her tear–streaked face looking particularly jarring under the sunlight. She stared at the imposing man before her and instantly knew he had misunderstood.
She shook her head frantically, her lips trembling with fear so deep it was etched into her bones. “William, listen to me. It’s not what it looks like. It was Agnes-”
William didn’t let her finish. He strode into the hospital room, grabbed Camilla, and yanked her away from Emily’s bedside.
Her frail body staggered backward from the force, crashing into a solid chest behind her. In that moment, it felt as if every bone in her body was about to shatter
Before she could react, large hands clamped down on her thin shoulders and forcibly turned her around.
She found herself staring into a pair of deep eyes
For the first fourteen years of her life, those eyes had looked at her with endless warmth and affection. Now, all that remained was bitter disappointment and harsh condemnation.
Owen’s brows furrowed tightly, his gaze stormy with rage. “Camila, what happened to you? Are you still the kind and innocent girl you used to be? Give her back to me, will you?”

Looking at the man who was both familiar and distant, Camila’s tears spilled over uncontrollably, her eyes brimming with despair.
She had never changed.
It was him. He had changed. Yet he refused to admit it.
Her shoulders trembled, her hands hung limply by her sides, and all the strength seemed to drain from her body.
“Owen…” Her voice was hoarse, laced with endless grievance and sorrow. But before she could say another word, her emotions erupted like a dam breaking She screamed hysterically. “It wasn’t me!”
But Owen didn’t believe her.
Not only did he not believe her, the look in his eyes was that of someone staring at a madwoman desperately trying to cover up her crime.
His grip on her shoulders loosened as if he couldn’t bear to touch her any longer.
And then, the next moment, things got even worse.
A strong hand suddenly grabbed her by the head, forcing her to look at Emily, who lay motionless on the hospital bed.
Harry’s face was contorted with fury as he roared, “We all saw it! And you still dare to deny it? If it wasn’t you, then where did the strangulation marks on Emily’s neck come from? Camila, how did you become so vicious?”
“Emily just regained consciousness, and you couldn’t wait to strangle her to death? Were you that desperate to silence her?”
Harry’s heart twisted in pain.
How could his own sister be this kind of person? He had once been furious when he heard about how she was bullied in
prison.
But now, he realized he had been too naive. Even after all the beatings and abuse, Camila’s vicious nature remained unchanged.
Perhaps someone like her only truly belonged in a place as ruthless as prison.
Every word that came out of Harry’s mouth was like a dagger, stabbing mercilessly into Camila’s heart.
Her entire body trembled violently as she shook her head frantically. “It wasn’t me. I swear it wasn’t me. It was Agnes! She’s the one who strangled Emily-
Her voice grew increasingly desperate until it turned into a near–hysterical scream.
But William, Owen, and Harry still looked at her with the same cold, furious expressions.
“You haven’t changed at all, just like five years ago.”
“Five years ago, you pushed Emily down the stairs and blamed it on Agnes. Now, five years later, you try to strangle Emily and frame Agnes again. Did you really think we‘”*“*

One by one, they spoke, convicting her without trial.
Just like five years ago–no matter how much she explained, no matter how much she cried, no one believed her innocence.
Camila felt her world spinning.
Chapter on To Silence Ther
For a split second, she felt as if she had been thrown back in time
Back then, Harry–her childhood friend, her supposed fiancé–had stood with the others, condemning her, as if they all wanted to drown her in their accusations alone.
Five years had passed. The time and place had changed, but the people remained the same. And once again, they were branding her a murderer.
Lindsey, watching the men treat Camila so roughly while also pinning the crime on her, finally lost her temper
She stormed forward, slapped Harry’s hand away, and shielded Camila behind her. “What the hell is wrong with you people?” she snapped. “You’re throwing accusations without even figuring out the truth! it was that woman who tried to kill the patient
She turned and pointed directly at Agnes.
Keira and Hazel immediately chimed in. “That’s right! We saw it with our own eyes!”
William, Owen, and Harry all turned to look at Agnes.
“No! No, it wasn’t me! It was Camila! She strangled Emily! I was trying to protect Emily, I swear–Agnes stammered, her voice quivering as tears welled up in her eyes.
Her hair was a disheveled mess, with strands sticking to her tear–streaked face, making her look pitiful.
The fresh scratch marks on her cheeks from Camila’s nails only added to her fragile appearance.
She sobbed as her body trembled, her voice breaking. “It wasn’t me! I would never hurt Emily–she’s my best friend! Camila stormed in and attacked her, and I fought to stop her! She even scratched me!”
As she spoke, she broke into another round of weeping, looking utterly helpless.
Anyone who saw her like this would instinctively feel sympathy. William’s fury deepened. His bloodshot eyes burned with rage as he suddenly turned and grabbed Camila by the throat
With brutal force, he slammed her against the wall. “You still dare to lie?!”
Camila felt as if she had been struck by lightning. A sharp, searing pain exploded in her back, sending waves of agony through her body.
Her vision blurred from the impact, her mind spinning. She struggled for air as his grip tightened around her throat, her face, turning a ghastly shade of blue.
But she couldn’t think about herself. With the last ounce of strength left in her, she gasped out, “Call the doctor…save..
Lindsey had had enough.
In all her eighty years, she had never seen a group of men so unreasonable and reckless.
No wonder Camila had been so desperate to escape
Surrounded by such a bunch of brainless, violent fools, who wouldn’t run?
Furious, Lindsey raised her cane and struck William’s arm.
William winced in pain, his grip loosening slightly.
Lindsey seized the moment, yanking Camila into her arms and holding her tightly. “If you don’t call the doctor right now, the patient is really going to die!” she roared.
William froze, glaring at Camila with pure hatred before finally storming out in search of a doctor.
Camila watched his retreating figure, and for the first time, a chilling realization dawned on her.
Something was very wrong.
With all the commotion in the hospital room, it was impossible that no doctors or nurses had heard anything.
And yet, no one had come. The only explanation was that someone had deliberately sent them all away Her head snapped toward Agnes–just in time to catch the triumphant glint in her eyes.
