Chapter 64 Is Agnes The Real Culprit?
Harry’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at Emily, seemingly unable to believe what he had just witnessed.
As Camila’s biological brother, he had always sided with Agnes, turning a deaf ear to Camila’s pleas and grievances. He even went as far as to kick her when she was down during her darkest days.
More than that, he had been the key witness in court, testifying with absolute certainty that Camila was the one who had pushed Emily.
Now, he felt as if the world was spinning, his legs growing weak beneath him.
Owen, on the other hand, was caught between disbelief and panic. As a lawyer, he was supposed to uphold justice and seek the truth, yet when it came to Agnes, he had repeatedly abandoned reason, blindly defending her and even trying to convince Camila to take the blame.
Back then, he had refused to believe that the kind and innocent Agnes could be guilty
With the entire Jackson family insisting that Camila had framed Agnes, he had accepted their version of events without question
Only now did he realize how terribly wrong he had been.
Cold sweat broke out on his forehead, and his eyes flickered uneasily.
Camila took in their expressions, every detail seared into her mind.
She had thought that witnessing their devastation would bring her satisfaction, but it didn’t.
Instead, a deeper bitterness settled in her heart.
Even if her name was cleared, those five years of torment would never be erased from her memory. The pain and suffering she had endured would haunt her for the rest of her life.
She despised them. Hated them. Loathed them with every fiber of her being.
If she had to suffer, then so would they. No one would walk away unscathed.
Camila turned to Emily once more and asked firmly. “Emily, tell them–was it Agnes who pushed you down the stairs back then?”
One simple question, yet it made Harry, Owen, and William all stop breathing for a moment.
Suddenly, they didn’t want to hear the answer.
If the truth was confirmed, their long–held beliefs would come crashing down.
And the consequences they would have to face would be too horrifying to bear
Harry abruptly interrupted, “Camila, Emily just woke up. She’s still weak. Let her rest–I’ll take you home.”
He reached out to grab her, but Camila swiftly dodged him.
Owen forced a smile, though it was painfully strained, avoiding eye contact with her as he chimed in, “Harry is right. There are too many people here, making a fuss. We’re disturbing Emily’s rest. Let’s talk about this later, okay?”
Camila’s expression turned ice–cold. “Are you afraid? Are you so scared of learning the truth? Or are you afraid that the person you’ve always seen as kind and innocent is actually a vicious snake? Do you just refuse to accept that you’ve been played for fools?”
The two men clenched their jaws, but they no longer had the courage to reprimand her..
Their gazes toward Camila were even tinged with a pleading desperation.
She scoffed, then turned to William.
Her sharp eyes pierced through him like daggers. Even without words, he could read the message in them. “William, don’t you want to know the truth?”
His face instantly turned ashen, torn between anguish and hesitation.
On one hand, he dreaded hearing an answer he couldn’t accept–the undeniable proof that he had committed an unforgivable mistake for the past five years
On the other, as Emily’s brother, he desperately wanted to uncover the truth and seek justice for her. The conflicting emotions waged war within him, leaving him p

She had actually believed he was the kind of brother willing to sacrifice everything for his sister.

But now, when the truth was about to be revealed, he flinched.
Just to protect Agnes, he was willing to let his own sister suffer in silence.
Camila took a step back, positioning herself beside Emily, standing firmly on the same side as her
“Emily!” Her voice rang with unwavering conviction. “Tell them–was Agnes the one who pushed you down the stairs and made you a vegetable?”
The moment of reckoning had arrived.
Emily shut her eyes tightly in resolve.
Agnes was trembling like a leaf, her entire body shaking uncontrollably.
Harry, Owen, and William looked absolutely terrified, as if they wanted nothing more than to flee from the truth.
Watching their agony, Camila finally felt a sense of catharsis. A long–awaited satisfaction. Her lips curled into a smirk
But just as Emily was about to open her eyes and give her answer, a sharp female voice suddenly cut through the tense atmosphere.
“What are you all doing in this hospital room? Don’t you know the patient needs rest?”
A woman in a white lab coat strode in, her voice full of authority. Following closely behind her were Arthur and Belinda The moment Agnes saw her, her eyes lit up with hope, as if she had just spotted her savior. She wanted nothing more than to rush into the woman’s arms and cry out her grievances, but she forced herself to hold back,
When the woman looked at Agnes, her gaze was gentle and affectionate. But as soon as she turned to the rest of them, her expression became stem and unyielding. “You’re disturbing the patient,” she stated coldly.
The doctor William had summoned immediately recognized her and called out, “Ms. Vazquez, what brings you here?” “If I hadn’t come, this entire room would have been turned upside down, Ivanna Vazquez said firmly, her hands tucked into her pockets. “Now, all of you, leave. Stop disturbing the patient’s rest.”
Camila didn’t move, her gaze locked onto Harry, Owen, and William. She hadn’t expected them to simultaneously let out a breath of relief.
Harry reacted first, nodding hastily. “Ivanna is right. We weren’t thinking. We’ll leave now.”
With that, he grabbed Agnes, ready to flee.
Camila’s voice rang out like a whip. “No one is leaving until the real culprit is exposed.”
Harry froze, turning back with a scowl. “Camila, when will you be satisfied? Can’t this wait until we’re home? Why must you make a scene here?”
Camila let out a scornful laugh. “The truth is about to be revealed, and yet you’re desperate to leave? What a convenient. excuse. No one is leaving until we name the real culprit.”
“You-!” Harry trembled with rage. Agnes, wrapped in his protective embrace, teared up, looking utterly pitiful
“Camila,” she whimpered, “I’ve always treated you like my own sister. Why do you keep targeting me? If I did something wrong, tell me I’ll change, I promise!” With that, she started sobbing,
“Shut up! This isn’t your turn to speak!” Camilla snapped, raising her hand to slap her..
Before her palm could land, Ivanna caught her wrist and yanked it away with a force so strong it nearly crushed her bones “This is a hospital, not a courtroom,” Ivanna declared coldly. “Take your disputes elsewhere. Stop disturbing the patient.” Her gaze held a sharp warning, with a trace of contempt.
Behind her, Arthur and Belinda remained silent, but their eyes were filled with condemnation as they stared at Camila. It was clear that if she continued, they wouldn’t hesitate to act against her.
Taking a deep breath, Camila forced herself to stay calm,
She narrowed her eyes at Ivanna.
Emily had been just seconds away from exposing Agnes, yet at the most crucial moment, Ivanna had appeared out of nowhere to intervene.
Her harsh words had seemed directed at everyone, but her eyes had been locked onto Camila.
And when she tried to strike Agnes, Ivanna had stopped her immediately–using a strength that was far from ordin
Camila didn’t believe in coincidences.
Too many coincidences meant that someone was deliberately pulling the strings. Ivanna was hiding something
“May I ask what your relationship with Agnes is? Why do you only defend her the moment you walk in?” Camila questioned sharply.
