Chapter Find A Another
Chapter 68 Find A Another Place
Agnes pointed at Camila and said to the police. “Sir, she tried to kill someone. Arrest her now!”
As long as she could get this wretched girl locked up again, and take care of Emily before she could speak, there would be no one left to threaten her
A flicker of malice and satisfaction flashed across Agnes’s eyes as she envisioned Camila being dragged away in disgrace,
Ivanna’s glare was filled with pure hatred.
That little wretch had the audacity to pull a knife on Agnes? She must be tired of living
It seemed like the inmates in prison had gone too easy on her last time.
This time, if Camila went back in, she wouldn’t be coming out alive.
“Officer, I can testify! She tried to strangle one of our patients and even stabbed someone. If you don’t arrest her immediately, the entire hospital will be in chaos. The patients will be terrified, and it will disrupt their treatment”
At that, the officer pulled out a pair of handcuffs and was about to restrain Camila.
Belinda, enduring the sharp pain in her abdomen, struggled to stand and shouted, “Don’t you dare touch my daughter
Her eyes were firm her voice unwavering.
Five years ago, she had failed Camila once
This time, she would not stand by and watch her be taken away again.
Even Harry stepped forward, saying, “Camila didn’t try to kill anyone.”
His voice carried exhaustion, but his stance was resolute.
Seeing both Harry and Belinda siding with Camila, Agnes clenched her teeth in fury, though she kept up her worried facade. “Mom, Harry, she stabbed you both! That’s attempted murder! If we don’t send her to prison now, what if she wakes up and tries to kill us again?”
Harry, irritated, snapped, “Shut up! I said she didn’t do it. Just leave! This is our family’s business, and there’s no need to waste police resources.”
Camila’s body was already broken beyond repair. She wouldn’t survive another prison sentence.
Even Emily had made it clear that Camila wasn’t the one who put her in a vegetative state. That meant Camila had spent five years behind bars for a crime she didn’t commit.
She had suffered through every punishment meant for someone else.
A broken leg, a missing kidney–her once healthy body left in ruins.
She had been the brightest student at Sancho High School, but her future had been shattered the moment she was thrown
in prison.
Looking at Camila’s frail form in Owen’s arms, Harry felt like he couldn’t even breathe from the pain
“Harry…” Agnes tried to argue, but one sharp glare from him shut her up..
The police, unwilling to interfere further in a family matter, simply advised Belinda and Harry to get their injuries treated before leaving.
As soon as the officers walked out, the tension broke, and both Belinda and Harry y were overwhelmed with exhaustion
Belinda, having lost too much blood, swayed on her feet before collapsing into the pool of her own blood.
Harry turned deathly pale, his legs nearly giving out beneath him
Agnes and Ivanna exchanged a glance, disappointment flickering between them. But they quickly composed themselves. and rushed to get Belinda and Harry taken away for emergency treatment.
With their departure, the room fell into silence.
Owen looked at the unconscious Camila, anxiety tightening around his chest. Instinctively, he tried to lift her in his arms to get her proper medical care.
But Hazel, like a ferocious mother protecting her cub, shoved him away with all her strength, her eyes blazing with rage. Don’t think that just because you saved Miss J
‘five years ago. You and the Jackson family- every last one of you–are despicable!”
Successfully unlocked!
Owen stumbled back, feeling as if his soul had been ripped out of his body.
Hazel’s words were like a dagger plunging straight into his heart.
His lips trembled, wanting to defend himself, but any excuse he could offer felt hollow and meaningless.
Chapter of Find A Anetturi
Images of Emily denying Camila’s quilt flashed through his mind. That revelation hammered against his conscience making his head pound
Pain twisted in his eyes, and his body trembled.
Back then, he had truly believed that Agnes was pure and kind–someone who could never harm her best friend, Emily
He thought someone had framed her.
And since Camila was stronger–since she was Agnes’s Camila–he assumed she could handle five years in prison. It wouldn’t ruin her life She would only be twenty three when she got out, still young enough to start over
Never once had he considered that those five years would leave her broken, tormented, crippled her entire future obliterated
Now, faced with the undeniable truth, he felt nothing but crushing regret.
Owen could only watch as Hazel knelt and carefully lifted Camila onto her back, cradling her as though she were the most precious thing in the world.
With Lindsey and Keira supporting her, Hazel carried Camila out of Emily’s hospital morn, step by step
Owen remained frozen in place, like a lifeless statue.
Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a glow on his figure, but he felt no warmth.
His soul had long since withered, leaving behind only an empty shell suffocated by guilt.
“Camila…” he finally whispered, his voice hoarse, his eyes brimming with unshed tears–an agony he had never known before
When Camila woke up, night had fallen.
The hospital room was dark, the only light coming from the hallway outside, casting faint, irregular shadows on the floor She lay motionless for a long time, staring blankly at the ceiling, as if time had frozen around her. Then, slowly, she peeled back the blanket and dragged her battered body out of bed.
Her movements were sluggish, mechanical–like a puppet worn down by time
She opened the door and slipped out silently, her steps unsteady as she walked through the hospital corridors.
The dim glow of the hallway lights illuminated her frail and lonely silhouette.
She kept walking, not knowing where she was going, nor how long she had been walking.
Eventually, she found herself standing on a pedestrian bridge.
She stopped, staring at the black water below, watching the river flow silently beneath the night sky.
After a long pause, she lifted a leg, preparing to climb over the railing–ready to end this nightmare of a life.
A low, indifferent male voice suddenly cut through the night. “Suicide?”
Camila’s body stiffened. The voice sounded familiar, but she was too numb to care. She didn’t turn around, didn’t acknowledge the speaker–just kept climbing,
The man’s voice rang out again, calm and unwavering. “If you’re going to kill yourself, at least find a place with no one around.”
Camila faltered slightly. She was about to die–what did it matter if there were people or not?
The man exhaled a thin stream of smoke and continued, “If I ignore you, I’ll seem heartless. If I intervene, I’ll be interfering with your fate. Either way, it makes no difference to me.”
This time, Camila finally turned her head. When she saw the man, she realized she recognized him
It was the same man who had offered her a cigarette in the stairwell not long ago.
A cigarette hung lazily between his fingers, its smoke curling into the night air, dissipating in the breeze.
The soft glow of the ember illuminated his sharp features, casting his face in shifting shadows. With a slow, effortless movement, he tapped the cigarette, sending a few ashes drifting away. Even this small action carried an air of refined elegance
He raised an eyebrow at her and smirked. “Want one?” Giovani asked.
