Chapter 72 Camilla Only Hai
Chapter 72 Camila Only Has One Kidney
Camila curled up on the bed, hes face flushed red, her entire body burning like she had just been pulled out of a furnace
Her lips were dry and cracked, and she kept letting out pained moans Her hands clutched the bedsheets tightly as if doing so could ease the unbearable discomfort raging inside her.
Lindsey stood by helplessly, while Kea and Hazel’s eyes welled up with tears. Seeing Camila in such agony felt like a knife cutting through their hearts.
When Giovani entered the room he didn’t hesitate. He scooped Camila up in his arms and nushed downstairs
He could clearly feel the burning heat radiating from her body it was so intense it felt like it could scorch him “To the hospital Grovani ordered firmly
Everyone hurried downstairs and got into the car
On the way, Hazel suddenly remembered something and said anxiously, “Not Mercy Hospital–go to Healthcam Hospital The Jackson family, Owen, and William were all at Mercy Hospital They were a bunch of lunatics, and there was no way they could let Camila cross paths with them again. Every time she did, she suffered
This time, no matter what, Camila had to be freed from the Jackson family’s grasp
Tumer slammed his foot on the gas, and the car shot forward like an arrow
In less than twenty minutes, they arrived at Healthcare Hospital
At that moment, Michael and his colleagues had just finished an academic conference at Healthcare Hospital and were preparing to head back to Mercy Hospital.
As they walked, they chatted about the topics discussed at the conference.
Despite Michael’s usual arrogant and playful demeanor, he was actually a highly skilled doctor and a key figure at Mercy Hospital. His expertise in the medical field was undeniable, which was why he often represented the hospital at academic meetings and seminars.
Just as they were about to exit the hospital building, Giovani rushed past Michael, carrying Camila straight to the emergency room, Lindsey, Keira, and Hazel followed closely behind, panting heavily.
For a split second, Michael froze. A flicker of surprise and confusion flashed in his eyes.
Instinctively, he turned back for another look, but all he saw was Giovani’s tall, broad–shouldered figure striding away. The woman in his arms had long hair that swayed with the movement.
He frowned slightly. ‘Could I have been mistaken? he wondered. How could Camila possibly be brought to Healthcare Hospital?
Healthcare Hospital was in the outskirts of Sancho–too far from the city center. The Jackson family would never go anywhere but Mercy Hospital.
Michael shook his head. Maybe he was just too exhausted and had mistaken someone else for her.
He didn’t dwell on it and resumed his conversation with the other doctors, refocusing on their earlier case discussion: Inside the emergency room, doctors were already examining Camila.
After a flurry of activity, one of the doctors frowned and walked up to Giovani.
“You’re the patient’s husband, right?” he asked.
Giovani was momentarily stunned. “I’m not-
“Yes! He’s her husband, and I’m his grandmother, Lindsey interrupted anxiously. “Doctor, how is my granddaughter–in–law?” The doctor sighed and immediately reprimanded them. “How could you, as family, be so irresponsible? You knew she only has one kidney, yet you let her drink so much alcohol? Were you trying to kill her?!
“A single kidney already struggles with alcohol metabolism, and she consumed an excessive amount. Right now, her blood alcohol level is dangerously high, if her remaining kidney weren’t so healthy, she would’ve already suffered multi–organ failure from the alcotiol poisoning.
“Fortunately, you brought her in just in time, so there’s no irreversible damage yet. But her condition is still critical. We’ll do everything we can to stabilize her.”
Lindsey almost collapsed upon hearing this. Ke

port her.
Hazel, on the other hand, was completely frozen, eyes wide with shock. ‘One kidney? How could Miss Jackson only have one kidney?
As soon as the doctor returned to the emergency room, Lindsey, looking utterly drained, turned to Hazel. “Hazel, why does

Camila only have one kidney?” she asked.
Hazel, still reeling from the revelation, stammered. “That’s impossible… Miss Jackson was completely fine five years ago before she was imprisoned!”
Her words were like a bomb thrown into a calm lake.
Lindsey, Keira, and Giovani all stiffened, their eyes widening in shock.
She was healthy before prison–but after her release, she was missing a kidney.
That could only mean one thing someone had taken her kidney while she was serving her sentence.
A heavy silence fell over them like a suffocating blanket. Giovani thought back to the information he had read earlier that
morning
Turner hadn’t uncovered anything about Camila losing a kidney, but given everything she had endured over the years, it wasn’t hard to guess that her missing kidney was somehow tied to the people who had harmed her.
How much hatred did it take for someone to do something so cruel to a defenseless girl?
Giovani considered himself ruthless, but even he wasn’t that monstrous.
The waiting time felt unbearably long. Every minute and second dragged on, agonizingly slow.
Lindsey clutched her hands together in prayer, begging for Camila’s safety.
Keira and Hazel silently wept, heartbroken by Camila’s suffering.
No one knew how much time had passed before the emergency room doors finally swung open. A doctor emerged, looking exhausted. Removing his mask, he said, “She’s stable for now, but she’ll need to be hospitalized for further observation. We’ll need to monitor her closely.”
Everyone let out a long breath of relief, their hearts finally easing–just a little
At Mercy Hospital, Harry, unshaven and weary, looked like a man consumed by regret. The once–confident and proud man was nowhere to be seen.
He walked absentmindedly toward Arthur’s hospital room.
Just as he reached the door, Ivanna stepped out.
Her face was flushed, possibly from the warmth of the hospital room. Her lips, in particular, looked swollen and red.
Startled to see Harry so suddenly, Ivanna’s eyes flickered with guilt. “Harry, you’re here,” she said nervously.
Harry barely acknowledged her with a grunt. His mind was entirely on Camila, his thoughts tangled in a mess of guilt and torment, suffocating him.
He didn’t even spare Ivanna a proper glance before striding into the room.
Arthur who had injuries on his arm, shoulder, and hip, had lost a lot of blood but was otherwise fine.
When Harry entered, Arthur was fastening his pants with a satisfied look on his face
Harry didn’t think much of it, assuming he had just used the restroom. He had no time to dwell on such trivial things
anyway.
He walked to a chair and collapsed into it, looking completely drained, as if all the energy had been sucked out of him. Arthur frowned. “Haven’t you found that little bitch Camila yet?”
Harry’s expression darkened instantly. A flash of anger and disbelief crossed his face. “Camila is your daughter. How can you call her that?”
Arthur scoffed. “She tried to kill me. I have no daughter as unfilial as her.”
Harry’s frown deepened. “She’s missing–possibly dead. Can you stop holding a grudge against her?” Arthur sneered, unimpressed. “It’d be better if she’s dead. At least she wouldn’t be around to bother me
Harry’s face turned stone–cold “Camila is your biological daughter. How can you be so indifferent to her life and death?” Arthur snorted dismissively. “A worthless girl like her isn’t even good enough to be given to Mr. Campbell. If she’s dead, so what? Instead of looking for her, why don’t you find some beauties in Sancho to entertain Mr. Campbell? As long as happy, our partnership with him is guaranteed.”
Harry stared at Arthur in shock. At that moment, the father he once respected felt like a complete stranger.
