Right now, Camila was utterly broke, without a single penny to her name. Yet, she was staying in a VIP hospital room–there was no doubt that Giovani had covered her medical expenses again.
She owed him a massive favor.
Camila’s face flushed red, all the way to her ears. “I do needlework. I can sell my embroidery to earn money. I just need some time, Mr. Campbell.”
Giovani, however, seemed amused. Leaning back against his chair, he propped his chin on one hand and said, “But I don’t need money.”
Camila froze.
Of course. A man who could afford a Rolls–Royce worth tens of millions and casually drink wine that cost 150,000 dollars a bottle–how could he possibly be short of money?
She felt a surge of heat rise to her face. She and Giovani lived in completely different worlds, and she had nothing of value to offer in return.
Lowering her head in frustration, she asked, “Then what do
you
want?”
Giovani leaned against the chair, his gaze deep and unreadable, as if he was contemplating something.
Feeling uneasy under his intense stare, Camila tightened her grip on the spoon.
Giovani watched her nervous expression, his mind calculating.
For years, Lindsey had been relentlessly pushing him to get married. Her hopeful, expectant gaze was becoming a headache.
Marriage had never interested him, but Lindsey clearly wouldn’t stop until she got what she wanted.
Giovani thought, ‘Instead of marrying some wealthy heiress who is full of schemes, only to end up resenting each other, why not marry someone Lindsey liked? Someone who wouldn’t be clingy or cause trouble?‘.
The woman in front of him fit the bill perfectly.
Her family situation was messy, but that wasn’t an issue.
If necessary, he could simply bankrupt the Jackson family–eliminating them would be no more than a flick of the wrist.
Yes, this arrangement made sense.
But he couldn’t suggest it outright.
From what he understood of Camila’s personality, she was kind and proud. She would never accept such a condition just because he had helped her.
This would take time. He needed a strategy–a slow, methodical approach.
His gaze remained fixed on Camila as he silently plotted how to lure her into his carefully laid trap.
Camila, unaware of his thoughts, only felt suffocated under his stare. It was as if she were prey caught in a hunter’s sights.
She forced herself to ignore the pressure.
She thought, ‘I must be overthinking things. Giovani is rich and handsome–he has met all kinds of women. There is no way

he is interested in me.‘
Mustering a faint smile, she said, “Mr. Campbell, I’ll do my best to repay you. Please don’t worry”

Giovani raised an eyebrow slightly. The curve of his lips deepened as he replied in a smooth, low voice, “No rush. I don’t need immediate repayment. I was just thinking… there are things more valuable than money.”
He paused deliberately, watching her expression. Seeing her confusion, he continued, “Grandma’s birthday is next month. Last night, you promised to help me restore Majestic Bloom, didn’t you?

“If your embroidery matches the original flawlessly–if no one can tell the difference–consider your debt repaid. What do you think?”
Camila’s eyes lit up. “That is all?‘ she thought.
She had been right–Giovani was a good person. He had noticed she was struggling financially, so he wasn’t making things difficult for her. He only wanted Majestic Bloom completed.
“Alright, I’ll make sure it’s perfect!” she said enthusiastically.
After all, she had stitched the original piece. It was only fitting for her to finish it. Her gaze toward Giovani filled with gratitude.
Giovani smiled slightly. “Once you’re better, you should stay at my place for the time being.”
Camila’s eyes widened in shock. She couldn’t believe he was inviting her to stay at his place. It didn’t seem like a good idea.
Before she could react, Giovani added, “I need to supervise you while you work. That way, I’ll have peace of mind.”
She instantly understood. Majestic Bloom had cost Giovani seven million dollars. It was only natural for him to worry its restoration.
Smiling, she nodded. “Alright.”
Giovani’s eyes darkened slightly, the smile on his lips deepening. He thought, ‘She’s so easy to fool.
Camila felt her cheeks warm again. She quickly lowered her head and continued eating.
Giovani returned to his book.
Every so often, Camila would glance at his focused profile. A strange sense of comfort settled in her heart.
Outside the hospital room, Turner stood in the hallway, his face twisted in frustration.
Just moments ago, Arthur had called him. Somehow, the man had gotten hold of his number.
Arthur’s obsequious tone still echoed in Turner’s mind, making him cringe.
At the last banquet, the Jacksons had shamelessly tried to arrange a marriage between Camila and Giovani–disgusting enough. Now, they were even sending beautiful women to invite Giovani to dinner.

The Jackson family was truly relentless. Absolutely pathetic. Turner muttered under his breath, “They tormented their own daughter, proving they’re a horrible family. And yet, they have the audacity to try sucking up now?”
He peered through the hospital room’s glass window. Inside, Camila sat quietly at the dining table, eating her meal, while Giovani lounged by the window, engrossed in his book. The sunlight bathed them both in a warm glow, creating a harmonious scene
If Lindsey and Giovani both took a liking to this woman, her character must be solid.

Turner couldn’t help but feel a hint of sympathy for Camila.
At Mercy Hospital, Arthur angrily slammed his phone onto the bed, his face dark with rage.

Agnes flinched at his expression and hurriedly asked, “Dad, what’s wrong? Did Mr. Campbell refuse again?”
Grinding his teeth, Arthur spat, “That bastard is impossible. First, he refused to marry that little wench Camila. Now, I send women to dine with him, and he still turns us down!”
His chest rose and fell sharply–he was beyond furious.
Agnes frowned in confusion. “But… isn’t Mr. Campbell known for being a notorious playboy? Rumors say he’s always surrounded by women. Why would he reject them?”
“Who knows?” Arthur’s expression darkened further. He slammed his fist on the table, making everything on it tremble.
If they didn’t secure the Eastville project, Jackson Group would have no foothold in Sancho. That was why they had to get in on it.
Agnes’s eyes flickered as an idea formed. She was shocked. “Dad, do you think the rumors were wrong? What if Mr. Campbell isn’t a womanizer?”
Arthur furrowed his brows, deep in thought. “Whether he is or not doesn’t matter,” he said after a moment. “What matters is that we get involved in the Eastville project. If seducing him won’t work, we need a different strategy.”
Agnes pondered for a moment before suggesting, “Dad, I heard Lindsey’s birthday is next month. Why don’t we prepare a generous gift and visit her personally? It might give us a chance to establish a connection with the Campbell family.”
