Chapter 79 

Belinda comforted Agnes for quite some time before she finally calmed down. 

Agnes flashed a sweet smile at Belinda and said, “Mom, I’m sorry. I was being thoughtless. You’re still recovering from your injury, yet you had to comfort me instead. You should go back to your room and rest. Don’t overexert yourself” 

Seeing how considerate her daughter was, Belinda felt deeply comforted. The exhaustion she had been feeling seemed to dissipate. 

She gently patted Agnes’s back and said softly, “Silly child, I’m fine. As long as you’re okay, I’ll be at ease” 

Then, Belinda turned to Arthur with a serious expression. “Arthur, arrange for more people to look for Camila. No matter what she’s done, she’s still our daughter. We can’t just ignore her.” 

Arthur wasn’t thrilled about it, but he still nodded perfunctorily in agreement. 

After giving her instructions, Belinda left the ward with Agnes. 

Just as they reached the door, they ran into Ivanna, who was wearing her usual kind and friendly expression. 

Belinda smiled warmly and greeted her politely. “Ms. Vazquez, you’re here.” 

Ivanna returned her smile. “Yes, I was just about to check on you, but you weren’t in your room. So I thought Id come see Mr. Jackson instead. I wasn’t expecting to run into you here.” 

She then looked Belinda up and down before continuing, “You seem to be in good spirits. I take it you’re recovering well?” 

Belinda nodded gratefully. “Thanks to your care, my injury is healing well.” 

Ivanna spoke in a slightly stern tone. “Even so, you still need plenty of rest. Your health should always come first.” 

Agnes immediately clung to Belinda’s arm and whined playfully, “Mom, you have to listen to the doctor. I’ll take you back to your room.” 

Belinda nodded and let Agnes support her as they slowly walked away. 

Watching their retreating figures, Ivanna could barely contain the smugness in her eyes. 

Once they were far enough away, she turned back and entered Arthur’s hospital room, locking the door behind her. 

Arthur had been waiting impatiently. His eyes were filled with anticipation. 

To avoid being caught, he quickly pulled Ivanna into the bathroom, tearing her black stockings apart and pinning her against the wall. 

Ivanna didn’t resist. On the contrary, she responded to his actions with equal fervor, her eyes clouded with desire and abandon. 

Soon, the sound of their passionate entanglement filled the small space, low and urgent. 

It lasted a full five minutes before finally coming to an end. 

Moments later, Ivanna walked out of the hospital room with a satisfied look, but as soon as she stepped outside, the smile 

vanished from her face. 

“Hmph. Getting worse and worse,” she muttered to herself.

Over the next three days, Camila remained at Healthcare Hospital to recuperate. 

Michael, as if following a schedule, showed up at her hospital room every single day, always with a bouquet of fresh flowers in hand. 

Camila didn’t want to see him. She was worried that the Jackson family might catch wind of his visits and come looking for her. 

On the morning of the fourth day, Turner completed her discharge procedures. 

Barely half an hour after she left, Michael arrived at the hospital, flowers in hand–only to find an empty room. 

Predictably, he was furious. 

“Damn you, Camila! I visited you every single day, and you didn’t even bother to tell me you were leaving?” 

What made it worse was that he didn’t even have her contact information. 

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. Without hesitation, he tossed the bouquet into the nearest trash can and stormed out of the hospital. 

Meanwhile, Camila sat in the backseat of a car as Turner drove through the streets of Sancho. 

The vehicle came to a stop at a red light. 

Camila turned her face slightly and rolled down the window. A gentle breeze brushed against her skin, cool yet refreshing, carrying away the gloom that had weighed on her heart these past few days. 

She closed her eyes, savoring the moment, and a rare, relaxed smile tugged at her lips. 

The light turned green, and the car moved forward. 

At the same moment, a black Maybach approached from the opposite direction, passing by her car. 

The driver inside happened to glance sideways, and in that fleeting instant, he caught a glimpse of Camila just as she rolled up the window. 

Even though he only saw her profile, he recognized her immediately. 

Owen’s heart pounded violently, nearly leaping out of his chest. 

He shouted in shock, “Camila!” 

His voice stood out amidst the bustling traffic, drawing curious stares from nearby pedestrians. 

At that moment, nothing else mattered to Owen. Not the traffic, not the rules–only one thought consumed him: He had to catch up to Camila. 

Without thinking, he jerked the steering wheel, completely disregarding his surroundings. 

His sudden lane change threw the traffic into chaos. Horns blared in protest. 

Then, a loud crash rang out as his car collided with the vehicle beside him. The impact sent a violent jolt through his car, but Owen seemed oblivious. 

Ignoring the damage, he flung the door open and stumbled out, his only focus on chasing after Camila.

“Camilat Don’t go!” he shouted desperately, running after her car.

The driver of the car he had just hit got out as well, furious. “Are you out of your damn mind?! You crashed into my car and now you’re trying to run?!” 

He grabbed Owen by the collar, but Owen shoved him aside without hesitation. 

Consumed by the need to reach Camila, Owen didn’t even think–he swung his fist and sent the man sprawling to the ground before continuing his pursuit. 

Inside the car, Camila had just rolled up the window when she heard the loud crash behind her. 

She instinctively turned around, as did Turner, who glanced at the rearview mirror and frowned. “There was an accident back there.” 

A strange unease crept into Camila’s heart. She thought she had heard someone calling her name. 

Her heart clenched tightly. A sense of foreboding washed over her. 

“Turner, drive faster, 

She forced herself to suppress the growing anxiety, urging him to speed up. 

It wasn’t until they arrived safely at the Campbell estate that she finally felt relieved. 

At the entrance, Lindsey, Keira, and Hazel were already waiting for her. As soon as they saw her step out of the car, they hurried over. 

But when they noticed how pale she looked, their expressions darkened with concern. 

“What happened?” Lindsey asked, her voice laced with worry. 

“Are you feeling unwell?” Hazel asked, placing a hand on Camila’s forehead. 

Keira, equally alarmed, studied her intently. “Why do you look so pale?” 

The genuine concern in their eyes filled Camila’s heart with warmth. 

She shook her head slightly, about to explain, but Turner spoke first. “Miss Jackson was frightened by a car accident just 

now.” 

The three elderly women gasped in shock, their faces going pale. 

“A car accident?! Were you hurt? Let me see!” Lindsey anxiously grabbed Camila’s hands, checking her over. 

Camila quickly held her hands to reassure her. “Grandma, I’m fine. It was someone else’s accident.” 

Hearing this, the three women finally breathed a sigh of relief. 

“Thank goodness… Thank goodness…” 

Meanwhile, the “someone else” in question–Owen–had already been subdued by the police. 

Even as he was handcuffed, his eyes frantically scanned the area, searching for any sign of Camila. 

The police shoved him into the back of their car, and only then did he realize he had just made a terrible mistake. 

Now, he was about to face charges for hit–and–run.
