Chapter 11 

Hearing this, everyone exclaimed in surprise.]

“Such big news, and no announcement? You’ve kept it well hidden!“]

“Now that you’ve divorced Emma, are you planning to marry Vivian? Not to be blunt, bit with your family traditions, it’ll be incredibly difficult.“[]

“Yeah, are you two prepared for that?”

As they questioned him one by one, everyone assumed that now that Marcus was divorced, he would undoubtedly pursue a relationship with his sister, regardless of consequences. After all, their feelings had been obvious to everyone for years.[]

But the more they discussed it, the worse Marcus’s expression became. He tightened his hold on Vivian and lowered his voice.[]

“Vivian… what do you think?”

He gave Vivian the choice. Just one word from her, and he would give her everything, no matter the cost.[] 

Marcus looked at her intensely, waiting for her response to the questions. Vivian answered calmly.[]

“Emma’s just angry with my brother for now. They’ve been married for so long–they’ll get back together soon. You guys are being silly! Marcus, and I are just siblings. How could we possibly be together like that?“]

“Marcus will win Emma back, right?“]]

Vivian spoke with childlike innocence, causing everyone to look incredulously at Marcus. No one could believe he would agree to such an absurd request, but Marcus nodded faintly, confirming his sister’s words.

“Vivian’s right. Emma’s just throwing a tantrum. I’ll get her back soon enough, and we’ll remarry.” 

As he said this, he stared intently at Vivian, as if making the most casual promise. His friends all frowned, and finally, someone spoke up quietly.

“But Marcus, you said Emma divorced you. If she’s determined enough to leave, she probably won’t come back easily. And if you truly love Vivian, we’ve got your back, man. Isn’t it wrong to string Emma along like this?“]

The question hung in the air as everyone fell silent. They’d always felt uncomfortable about Marcus being with Emma while loving his sister, and now they couldn’t hold their tongues.

before Marcus could answer, Vivian jumped in first.]

“Being Marcus’s wife has always been Emma’s dream. She’s only upset because of the divorce. I’m just looking out for her. Emma will definitely come back–she loves my brother too much to let go.“]]

Marcus nodded, feeling his sister was right. Initially, if she hadn’t begged him to give Emma a chance, he never would have married her. The same applied now—whenever he wanted her back, Emma would surely return to him. These few days were just their final moments of joy together.

He grabbed a bottle of alcohol and poured it straight down his throat. Just as Vivian tried to stop him, Marcus captured her lips in an alcohol–soaked kiss.[ This was the first time they had kissed in front of their mutual friends.[]

Vivian pushed against Marcus’s chest, unable to break free, and soon succumbed to her brother’s passion.[]

Just as Marcus was about to take things further, the door was pushed open. Mr. Shaw entered, his face livid with anger.[]

“Marcus! Vivian! What are you doing? 

The embracing couple separated immediately. Vivian’s face turned pale as she tried to get off her brother’s lap, but Marcus held her tight, his tone resolute.[] “You’ve seen exactly what we’re doing.” 

Vivian couldn’t believe it and cried out sharply: “Marcus! What are you doing?!”

Marcus looked at her seriously.

“Vivian, let’s be together. I don’t want to hide anymore. We’re not biological siblings–we can be together openly even marry and have children. If you’re willing, we can be together forever.”

Seeing the sincerity in Marcus’s eyes and the stern expression of her adoptive father, Vivian panicked. She slapped Marcus hard across the face.

Chapter 11 

“Brother, stop talking nonsense!“]]

The slap was loud, silencing Marcus. He looked at his beloved with wounded eyes, silently clenching his fists.

The others had already tactfully left. Mr. Shaw gave a cold snort, ignoring their protests as several bodyguards immediately seized them.]

“You’re both coming to the family mansion tonight. No one leaves until this matter is resolved!“]
