Twice a week… the thought of being chosen by one of the males filled me with a sense of terror that I couldn’t quite shake. “So, w–what happens when a girl is chosen?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady despite the rising panic within me.
Sasha’s expression darkened slightly, her eyes betraying a hint of sadness as she spoke. “It depends,” she said cryptically. “Sometimes they’re taken to serve the Alpha or one of his higher–ranking men… other times, they’re sent to work in the private kitchens or to do the laundry so it just depends on their mood I guess. Sasha shrugs off, seeming to not want to talk about her own personal encounters.
The uncertainty of our fate kung heavy in the air, casting a shadow over the relative calm of the room. We were all too aware of the dangers that lurked beyond these walls, of the harsh reality of life in his unforgiving place.
“But don’t worry,” Sasha added quickly, as if sensing our growing unease. “You two are new here, so they’ll likely leave you alone for a while. Just keep your heads down and do as you’re told, and you’ll be fine.” She attempted to comfort us, however it didn’t help much.
Her words offered little comfort, but I appreciated her attempt to reassure us nonetheless. As we returned to our work, the rhythm of stitching and hammering serving as a soothing distraction from the chaos that surrounded us, I couldn’t shake the feeling of apprehension that lingered in the back of my mind.
Twice a week… it was a grim reminder of the precariousness of our situation, of the constant threat that hung over our heads like a sword waiting to fall.
But as I glanced over at Erin and Sasha, their faces focused and determined as they worked, I knew that we were in this together. And as long as we had each other, perhaps we stood a fighting chance of surviving the horrors that awaited us in this dark and unforgiving place.
“So tell me about you two? What’s your story?” Sasha suddenly questioned us both, as I looked to Erin for her to speak.
“Well uh… pretty tragic actually… we were both set up to live a wonderful life with some pretty decent males who treated us like queens. Then we sort of, fucked up, and they got rid of us.” Erin clears her throat, trying to rush out the words to prevent them from stinging either of us at the memory.
“Oh my! Males are so cruel!” Sasha huffs, as Erin and I struggle to agree when referring to Kane or Seth.
Neither of them were cruel or unjust… they were just disappointed in our actions at the festival that night. Although I wish they knew that it wasn’t our faults…
“What next?” Sasha goes on, as I focus on lacing up a pair of boots to listen to Erin speak.

“Well we used to live at a centre sort of similar to this, only less strict… and our headmistress there pretty much two Russian males. The whole thing was really sketchy but to cut a long story short we ended up here!” Erin grumbies, as I nod along in confirmation with everything she had said.
“I can’t believe they are taking girls from other countries now too!” sasha remarks, wide eyed and making a good point on the
matter.
It made no sense to me either, why they had done that. Especially when there were clearly girls here in their homeland already…
“I wonder why…” I add, trying to think on it but coming up with no plausible excuse.
“Greed!” Sasha retorts, as we giggle a little at the way she had said
She’s not wrong…

The males here seemed far more entitled than the ones we were used to back home and I never thought I would said that as despite meeting Kane, the other male had seen always seemed so cocky and intense!
It was odd sitting here with Saga now, as I felt as though I had been here for a month already having learned so much in one day about the way this place operates.
However, I did dread the day when I would meet one of the higher tiles or possibly even the Alpha himself for that matter…
