1 fear at this rate nothing will make me feel whole again. I was broken and bruised (quite literally). I had no more faith or hope left -It was all gone.
The dreadful alarm tung around in the air as we both groaned and stood from our seats heading for the door in order to get lost amongst the many other females around us in an attempt to go unnoticed.
“What d–do we do?!” 1 panic, realising that we had n

With no one to guide us, we continued to walk with our heads down not wanting to offend any of the guards that we passed by.
Eventually, we arrived at our destination after walking down some stairs: greeted by a row of laundry machines and spots to dry and iron clothes and what looked to be bed sheets.
The air in the room was warm and humid, another blissful bonus to the chore and I was relieved to find no guards down here to monitor anyone too.
It was seeming to be a win–win situation for us today, thankfully.
“This doesn’t seem so bad!” Erin sighs loudly in relief as I agree and follow the others.
The air was warm and humid, a welcome change from the biting cold outside, and felt a flicker of relief wash over me as we both stepped inside and headed over to a free spot.
“This is fine… no guards,” Erin muttered under her breath, a hint of relief in her voice as we were handed stacks of clothes to iron and fold from one of the girls.
“At least we’ll be warm in here too.” I nodded back in agreement, grateful for the simple task that lay ahead of us for today since I had feared that I wouldn’t be much use with my aches and pains elsewhere.
Despite the grim surroundings, there was a sense of camaraderie among the other females as we worked side by side, some of them even laughing and talking together to lift the mood of the room regardless of if we couldn’t actually understand them.
–
The rhythmic hum of the washing machines providing a soothing backdrop to our labours and each time the irons steamed it provided a new wave of heat for us all.
As we ironed and folded, I couldn’t help but steal glances back at Erin, a sense of gratitude swelling within me for her unwavering support throughout this ordeal and for the simple fact that we hadn been separated.
Despite the horrors we had faced, we had managed to find solace in each other’s company, and for that, I was truly grateful…
As the hours passed, my dull mood slowly picked back up again but our task slowly drew itself to a close, meaning it was dinner.

“Wonder what it will be tonight… steak maybe?” Erin jokes softly, as giggle and roll my eyes.

Chapter 132
As If but we can dream!
The guards entered the room, blowing a final whistle, before we line up at the back of the queue and made our way slowly up the
steps.
But just as we reached the top, a guard stepped in front of us both topping us in our tracks with his hand as I slammed my mouth shut to prevent myself from screaming.
Looking up through my swollen vision – I nearly died when seeing the same familiar face which had caused my pain in the first place.
He’s back…
To find me…
To punish me more.
My hand darted backwards, clutching to Erin in fear as he ushered us back in to the laundry room – separating us from the rest of the females as he closed the door behind him.
“Listen! We… leave… here… tonight!” The man’s broken sentence comes out as he thinks on each word – attempting to talk to us both in English.
What does he mean?!
We leave here? With him?!
“Dinner… then go!” He states firmly, gaze looking intense as I swallow the lump in my throat and find myself nodding to please
him.
Where is he taking us and for what?! I don’t trust him and don’t think for one second that his intentions with us are good!
He cuts our moment short, opening the door back up to allow us both to escape the room – following on to a passing line of females heading towards the canteen.
A new sense of dread filled me, knowing that the man had plans for us out with this centre…
Do we try to report him?
Do we go with him and chance our escape?
All I knew was that we had to find a way to survive – for this guard may have other plans for our futures…
