My Human Chapter 21-1
Tessa’s POV
Dinner exceeded my expectations tonight, as I practically moaned after each delicate bite of my steak.
It was the best thing I had ever tasted, and even Kane had complimented it’s flavour claiming that it was a ‘new chef‘ on weekends.
Speaking of weekends, I couldn’t believe that it was Saturday already My week had been so transformative that it has completely shuffled my life around leaving me lost for days.
“You like Seth, don’t you?” Kane’s question meets my ears as we both approach the end of our dinner together – the question itself causing for me to straighten up.
I hope he hasn’t gotten the wrong idea when he seen us both talking in the kitchen earlier…

“W–What?” I all but manage to respond, cursing myself for sounding even more suspicious than intended.
“You seem comfortable enough to be around him. Not so nervous like how you can get.” Kane continues, chewing the last of his meat as I nod once in understanding of what he was saying.
“Y–Yeah… he’s got a softer side… 1–like you.” I explain, watching him grab the table napkin to wipe his mouth before placing it down to indicate that he was now done.
“You regard me as being soft?” He questions, raising a brow in curiosity as my eyes widen a little at how insulting that must sound
to him.
“N–Not soft! That’s not what I’m trying to say! I just mean, softer towards me. You are both a little m–more lighthearted around me and I appreciate it because I didn’t expect to find that from any m–males.” I attempt to explain myself, before following his lead to grab my own table napkin to wipe my mouth.
He studies me with the intensity of his green eyes, as I take the silence as a chance to reach forward for my glass of water – taking a long sip.
“You were taught that us males were just killing machines?” Kane ponders, as I sort of shrug a little before nodding once in
agreement.
That was one way to put it…
“Well that’s not totally wrong… because we can be…” Kane adds, as clear my throat a little at the thought of seeing him angry to the point of no return.
1 hadn’t even seen or asked to see his wolf yet… we weren’t supposed to either… we were taught that they would share their wolf with us when they see fit. More or less whenever they feel they have found the right match for them.
“We are nice to the people we like just remember that. My friends are pretty much your friends until I say otherwise Tessa.” Kane explains, as I digest his words.
Yeah I guess he’s right… although he wasn’t fully aware of what Seth had openly offered to help me with earlier… and for that, i would be grateful for.
Before our conversation could progress any further, the door to the dining room is tossed open revealing an alarmed looking. Anthony,
“I tried to mind–link you Kane!” He states, taking the time to catch s breath as though he had just cum a mile to get here.

Chapter 21-1
“I’ve got it blocked, we were having dinner. What is it?!” Kane seems irritated, standing from his chair to his full height as I remain seated with my head lowered to avoid looking too nosey.
“It’s Leo! He’s furious! He’s marched himself all the way up to the gates demanding to see you! He’s also fucking drunk which doesn’t help…” Anthony shares the update, as I feel the colour drain from my face at the mention of the terrible man in question.
Does he know that I was in his home? Maybe he has hidden cameras and caught it all on tape? Is he going to stick me in to Kane?!
I glue my lips shut, deciding it would be best for me to just wait it out for now… maybe it’s nothing… maybe he’s just up here to complain about something silly since he is drunk after all?
“What the fuck does that fool want now?!” Kane grits out in agitation, as Anthony throws me a short glance before returning his attention back to Kane.
“He’s claiming that his human has gone missing and that it’s Tessa’s fault…” Anthony rushes out, offering me a pitiful look before it is replaced with a blank expression only seconds later.
Did I just hear that right? Erin is missing? Has she run off? Oh God no…
If she has gone on the run that only means one thing…

Chapter 21-2
“The human will be deemed a rebel if she has gone on the run! Bring him up here at once!” Kane demands in his Alpha tone, as my heart sinks at the truth behind his words.
Erin wouldn’t do that… she’s not that stupid… she’s signing her own death certificate if she’s attempted to run off like that… there’s
no way!
I watch Anthony exit the room again, leaving only myself and Kane in the dining room.
“K–Kane please…” I begin, panic surging through me before he makes a swift move to grab my bicep before guiding me up and on to my feet.
“Come on!” He states bluntly, uninterested in anything in which I have to say on the matter.
He guides us towards a room closer to the front of the house a sort of tearoom if you could call it that as he pushes me in ahead of him first.

“Sit there!” He points to a specific chair, as I move quickly to do just that – growing nervous at how quickly his mood has switched
- up.
He’s going to find out everything… and Seth is nowhere to be seen to even back me up with this… it was his suggestion after all!
A few minutes pass, before the hustle of men approaching comes in to ear shot as I turn to glance out of the front window from where I was seated.
Kane exits the room to open the main door, leaving it slightly ajar which allows me to still hear the whole commotion from my current spot.
“That fucking bitch! Alpha! You better get that whore tracked down for me and right this instant! You owe me that much!” Leo’s disorderly voice is heard shouting in distress as I wrap my arms around my body in an attempt to comfort myself and my racing
heart,
Leo will most definitely kill Erin if he gets his hands on her again…
“Who the fuck are you to storm up here and say that I owe you anything mutt?!” Kane is heard responding harshly, seeming fully pissed off already with Leo’s intrusion.
“Yes… you do actually owe it to me! Now get your best men to BRING HER BACK before it’s too damn late!” Leo thunders, and I almost cringe at the disrespect he was showing towards Kane as his Alpha.
That was a major red flag – and I think him being drunk right now will only give him so many get out of jail cards before Kane’s temper will snap completely.
I remain silent and on edge, hearing the whole commotion go on from right outside of the room…
“Why do you fucking think that I owe you anything?!” Kane retorts, furious and growing impatient with the fool.
This is not going to end well I can tell that much…
“If it weren’t for that hellish dinner you had invited us to she wouldn’t have even had the courage to attempt to run off!” Leo shouts loudly, as the other men are quickly heard shushing him and telling him to calm down as he evidently grows even more distressed.
This must be what Erin had to deal with in his home….

Chapter 21-2
“I suggest that you fucking lower your tone or I’ll be forced to make you!” Kane sounds dangerous, like a mad man waiting to pounce on his victim.
But would that be a bad thing? Kane giving Leo a warning? Maybe that’s what this man needs…
It sounds to me that he is far too cocky around here and has clearly forgotten who the real Alpha actually is.
“Why don’t you get your human under control first Alpha? Help us all out here!” Leo argues, the alcohol overshadowing his judgement as he directly brings me in to the argument and causes for my heart to sink.
Please no…
“What the fuck has my human got to do with your human running off?! Maybe if you weren’t a fucking drunk pig she would’ve stayed!” Kane slams, as I almost snigger at the drunken pig comment – despite being too terrified in this moment to move.
“Your human is the whole fucking reason for mine running off! I know they devised a plan when they went off to the bathroom together during dinner! That little bitch is sneaky and you know it! She has you wrapped around her God damn finger!” Leo fumes, yelling as loud as he possibly could before a hellish growl is released next – causing me to gasp loudly at the escalation.
What he’s claiming isn’t even true!
I hear a sudden yell, followed by the sound of the stones crackling from outside as I turn in my chair once again to see Kane on top of Leo – hammering punch after punch in to the man’s face without mercy.
I watch on for only a second, before it becomes unbearable as I turn away from the fight – knowing that if I were to involve myself in this at all – Kane could of course turn on me at any moment.
Just stay here… be quiet…
The other men, one of them in which I had recognised as Anthony, stood aside and allowed for the fight to unfold (if you could even call it a fight with Kanes power being unmatched).
I guess Leo should just be lucky that Kane didn’t shift in to his wolf form… for that would only mean certain death for him…
