Tessa’s POV
04
After a rough night of being given the cold shoulder from Kane and Seth, I had Erin sleep with me in my room to help keep us both
sane.
It was now the next morning as we both moved around like snails to slowly pack up our stuff to get on Kanes private flight at 4pm to take us back to the training centre… where it all first began.
It killed my soul knowing that I had upset Kane so much last night, despite having very little control over the situation and its outcome with Arianna being the mastermind behind it all – bitch.
I would eventually get around to telling Kane the truth of it all, but only when he is actually willing to sit down with me to hear what I have to say. Right now, I doubt that he would even stop to give me the time of day let alone discuss last night with me.
The worry of course was that he might never believe me over Arianna, which was likely, with the fact that he had known her for longer and that she was pretty much like family to him by now.
I hadn’t even seen him yet and myself and Erin both avoided breakfast this morning for that very reason. We figured that since Anthony was the one to visit our rooms early this morning to tell us to pack our things and to be ready for the flight at 4pm, that they both very much still didn’t want to talk to either of us today.
We got the hint, and myself and Erin agreed that it would cause less hassle for everyone involved if we just kept our heads down and waited for the storm to blow over…
“I mean, it was fun while it all lasted, right?” Erin sighs, helping me to fold away some trousers to pack my bags as she had finished up with her own bag pretty quickly having not actually brought a lot here with her.
I almost forgot that she had originally came here with Leo – feeling like that whole saga was years ago now when it had actually only been a matter of days.
I had completely shut off the memories of Erin’s horrific time and forgot that to begin with, Leo just dragged her all the way down here by train without giving her any notice about coming here either so she didn’t actually have any of her stuff from home with her.
“It might not be over… maybe when they both calm down they will talk to us? We can explain it all.” I suggest, as my brain screams at me for my stupidity but my heart longs for my words to hold at least some truth to them.
Anything can happen…
“Well we go back, and then the next day it’s the choosing so I guess we will find out by then if they want to keep us around for definite or not.” Erin responds, moving to tighten the hair tie holding up her ponytail before continuing to help me pack up.
The choosing was simply another ceremony to make it official of whether the suitor (being the males) want to keep their partner around permanently or not which was sort of a really big deal…
My brain didn’t seem to be processing that there was actually a really big chance that Kane won’t approve our match up anymore which will ultimately land me right back at square one – back to facing the judgement days.
The judgement days, after my first harrowing experience, made me want to vomit at the thought of repeating it all over again. I got lucky with Kane the first time around very lucky and something tells me that I wouldn’t find that same luck for a second time.
I would also need to go back to my boring day to day life with the mean girls at the school (the ones who haven’t been chosen that is) which I’m hoping they all have and will be sent off to far away packs for my own benefit.
