Chapter 101
“Um, e excuse me,” I began tentively, my voice trembling slightly. We were just w–wondering… but where exactly are we headed? I speak out like a trapped mouse as both of them become silent tuning to stare through us both as though they were astounded to even hear us speak.
Marcus and Victor exchanged a knowing glance before Marcus let out a booming laugh, his breath heavy with the scent of alcohol.
“Ah, the little birds are curious now, are they?” He replied in English with a thick accent, his voice dominating and fierce. “You’ll find out soon enough, humans, if you haven’t already managed to guess. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. He concludes, before clinking cans with his friend.
Erin and I exchanged a worried glance, unsure of what to make of Marcus’s cryptic response. It was clear that they had no intention of revealing their destination to us, and the uncertainty only served to heighten our sense of unease.
We called it quits, surprisingly feeling more unsettled knowing that they both could speak English now…
As the jet continued to soar through the night sky, Erin and I lapsed into a tense silence, the sound of Marcus and Victor’s drunken laughter ringing in our ears like a chilling refrain.
What was weird though, was that neither of them seemed to want to converse with us further – as though we were just here for decoration. They didn’t seem to care that they had just selected two females to take back to their home land…
As the hours dragged on, exhaustion began to creep in, but sleep remained elusive, chased away by the gnawing fear that gripped us both. Trapped in this metal tube hurtling through the darkness, with no idea of where we were headed or what awaited us on the other side, all we could do was cling to each other and hope for the best.
As the night wore on, the steady drone of the jet’s engines filled the cabin, drowning out any attempt at conversation. Marcus and Victor had fallen into a drunken stupor, their voices reduced to low murmurs as they slouched in their seats.
Despite their inebriation, their presence continued to loom large, casting a shadow of fear over Erin and me.
The sense of isolation grew, as though we were adrift in a sea of uncertainty with no land in sight. Erin and I huddled together in our seats, seeking solace in each other’s company as we tried to make sense of our predicament.
But try as we might, there were no answers to be found, only more questions and fears.
Where exactly were Marcus and Victor taking us and why?
Why had Miss Felicity betrayed us, handing us over to these dangerous strangers without so much as a word of explanation?
We couldn’t The more I thought about it, the more my anger simmered beneath the surface, a fierce determination rising within me. afford to be passive victims in this situation; we had to find a way to take control of our fate before it was too late – even if that means trying to form some sort of a positive relationship with these two.
But as I glanced over at Marcus and Victor, their forms shrouded in the dim light of the cabin, a cold chill ran down my spine. They may have been drunk and seemingly unaware of our presence, but there was a dangerous edge to them that I couldn’t ignore – different to how I felt around Kane that was for certain.
With a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, I realized that we were well and truly alone in this fight.
There would be no one coming to rescue us, no knight in shining armor to swoop in and save the day.
It was up to Erin and me to find a way out of this nightmare, to reclaim our freedom and forge our own path forward. But with each passing mile that separated us from everything we had ever known, the odds seemed more insurmountable than ever.

Chapter 101
As the first light of dawn began to peek over the horizon, casting a soft glow over the cabin, I knew that we were running out of time. Whatever awaited us at our destination, we had to be ready to face it head–on, armed with nothing but our wits and
determination.
“It’s going to be ok Erin!” I whisper, seeing her tired and sunken eye.
She had already been through enough with Leo, finding hope with Seth for it to only be taken away… it’s not fair.
As the jet continued its journey through the endless expanse of the sky, I closed my eyes and whispered a silent prayer, hoping against hope that somewhere out there, a glimmer of hope still remained.
I was unsure if whether or not this was another trial period, but by the ways Miss Felicity had acted back there – it all seemed far too sketchy to only be temporary.
Why did she want us gone so fast?
What was the motif?
Perhaps these men paid good money and we are her least liked girls so it makes sense for her to ship us off the first chance she can get…
I just wish we could have attended the choosing ceremony to see Kane and Seth one last time, maybe to change their minds?
It was too late for all of that… and with a single tear slipping down my check – I allowed myself to rest.
