Chapter 2
Chapter 2
“You’re something else, man,” one of his friends said with a smirk.
“Getting your twin brother to take your place when you’re bored with your girlfriend? That’s cold.”
“Aren’t you worried Emma will find out?”
Matthew lounged back, one leg crossed over the other, completely nonchalant. “She’ll never catch on.”
“Why’s that?”
“Emma’s completely love–struck,” he scoffed. “She chased after me for three months. When I pretended to be broke, she handed over her entire paycheck to fund my ‘band.‘ If that’s not desperate, what is?”
The group erupted in laughter.
“So she still has no idea you’re actually the younger son of the Rivera Group, with more money than you could ever spend?”
Matthew’s smile was smug. “If she knew, she’d only cling to me more.”
“Why not just break up with her then?”
“And miss the chance to make Victoria jealous?”
“Ah, so that’s it – you’re still hung up on your ex!” The group teased him mercilessly.
“You’ve always been in love with Victoria.”
“Let’s be real – you and Victoria make sense. You’re from the same world. This Emma girl? She’s just a plaything.”
“Obviously,” Matthew didn’t deny it. “Emma doesn’t hold a candle to Victoria.”
After their laughter died down, someone asked, “How’d you convince your brother to go along with this? He’s always been so… proper.”
“Told him my ‘playing poor‘ scheme could damage the company’s reputation if discovered.”
“Classic – your brother only cares about the business.”
“So when are you dumping Emma?”

Chapter 3
“Soon,” Matthew drawled “As soon as Victoria wants me bark”
“Think you can shake Emma off? Shire like glue”
“That’s what my in other’s for. He’s perfect for these cold hearted tasks
“You trust him that much?”
Matthew smirked. “Of course. My dear brother’s twenty seven and never been with a woman. Probably emotionally dead inside,”
Really?
I touched the fresh kiss mark on my neck, lowering my eyes.
