Chapter 8
Gemini’s POV
King Asher’s eyes went from those beautiful blue gems to a lava red and back again in a split second.
At the threshold of our Beta’s chamber stood a face no one thought they would be seeing anytime soon- Elder Amarok, the eldest member of the pack, a reputable seer.
“Move!” King Asher ordered effortlessly, but his aura alone was capable of strangling the life out of Elder Amarok.
I shuddered on the elder’s behalf, this could be the end of him if someone doesn’t intervene.
“Your majesty—“ Elder Amarok called, his words bubbling in him, ready to be let out. “I bet you don’t want to do this,” his words sound like he had sensed a great danger, but the biggest danger was in front of his eyes.
I caught a glimpse of Pierre watching by the corner of the entrance. Could he have had a hand in this?
A guard stepped forward as if to get a hold of the oldie, but I got in between them as fast as I could. “Elder, please… Now is not the time, please keep your silly visions to yourself. After all, it ain’t even that accurate.”
Let’s go, Your Majesty.” I placed my hand on his wrist as I tried to pull him with me.
Deep down, I prayed he would overlook everything and just move with me, but instead, he did just what I had thought he would.
He stood unshaken, his eyes boring into Elder Amarok’s. “As an elder, I expected you to be well aware of the consequences of going against my orders.”
Elder Amarok nodded yet he didn’t waver. “Yes your majesty, but I also know that your decision to take Gemini could be one of the worst mistakes you would make in your lifetime.”
King Asher’s expression didn’t change, and his eyes were still boring into Elder Amarok’s. “Your last warning!” he said, his voice cold and detached.
Elder Amarok’s face remained calm, but I could sense a hint of desperation in his eyes. “Your Majesty, please—“
King Asher raised his hand, cutting off the elder’s words. “Enough,” he said, his voice dripping with disdain. “Guards, take the him away.”
The guards moved forward, but I quickly spread my hands as if trying to shield Elder Amarok. “Wait, please don’t hurt him!” I pleaded.
King Asher’s eyes flashed with annoyance, “Gemini!”
“Your Majesty, please, do this for me.”
King Asher’s expression remained icy. “Some crimes can never go unpunished,” he said, his voice cold and detached.
He turned to the guards. “Take the old hag away. And as for you, Gemini… you’re coming with me.”
He reached out and grabbed my arm, pulling me away from Elder Amarok. I struggled against his grip, but he was too strong. I was dragged away, helpless to stop King Asher’s cruel intentions.
Silence enveloped the car and I watched the road in horror, thinking of what my life was likely to be like after getting to the Lycan’s.
Feeling suffocated, I pulled out a gum from my handbag and began chewing away to calm my.nerves.
It was something I did when I needed to talk but couldn’t- I wanted to talk, to know his reason for paying fifty million dollars just to have me.
King Asher’s eyes flicked towards me, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. He turned to face me, his expressionless face making my heart beat faster than ever before.
He leaned in close, his face inches from mine. I could feel his warın breath on my skin, and it sent shivers down my spine. My heart was racing, and I couldn’t help but wonder what he was going to do next.
The air was thick with tension, and I could feel the electricity between us. It was like the whole world had come to a standstill, and all that mattered was the two of us.
Suddenly, King Asher’s hand reached out and pressed hard against my cheek. My mouth opened in response, and he took advantage of the opportunity. He reached into my mouth and pulled out the gum, his fingers brushing against my lips.
I felt a jolt of electricity at the touch, and my heart skipped a beat. King Asher’s eyes locked onto mine, and I saw a flicker of something there.

something that looked almost like desire.
“You’re no longer a little girl, Gemini,” he said, his voice low and husky. “It’s time you started acting like it.”
1 froze, my body hardening under his little touches, the thumping of my heart grew even heavier when I noticed his gaze wasn’t leaving mine, neither was he pulling away.
What the heck does he want?
